Wood is currently searching for a talented Entry Level Piping Designer to support our Process and Chemicals group at our Park Ten Office in Houston, TX.
Due to the nature of the role, Wood will be considering local, qualified candidates first (Wood will not assist in relocation). Authorization to work permanently in the U.S. without sponsorship required.

RESPONSIBILITIES
Under close supervision, create CADD designs/drawings from Engineering and Design sketches, mark-ups, go-bys and verbal instruction. Coordinate with other discipline designers to ensure verbally received information is communicated and clearly understood.
Provide support to projects for 2D drawing deliverables
Perform a "self-check" of completed deliverables prior to being submitted for checking
Working under the guidance of the Piping Design Coordinator and/or Senior Designer's, performs field walk down survey of facilities to document equipment arrangement, tie-in locations and P&IDs.
Support Piping Design Coordinator and/or Senior Designer's, in maintaining a needs list of design criteria to support completion of his/her drafting assignment.
Develop deliverables in a consistent manor that are accurate, legible and convey the design intent.
Support Piping Design Coordinator and Project Management in presentations to project team to support Piping Drafting progress.
QUALIFICATIONS
Minimum Education: Basic Cad Classes High School Diploma
Preferred Education: 2 year Associates degree or Technical School - Drafting and Design
Minimum work experience entry level to 2 years industry experience
Preferred work experience 1-2 years experience in the Oil and Gas Industry
Able to do occasional field visits, climbing stairs/ladders, gathering information, measuring. Potential for visits to offshore sites via helicopter or boat
Able to comprehend and interpret technical information applicable to the assignment / task
Good level of general computer literacy and some basic familiarity with relevant engineering software
Proactive in communicating across work groups to resolve barriers
