The Lead System Engineering position is responsible for translating the core architecture for business requirements into the final technical solution (consisting of platform, network, software, cloud, etc.) through functional, performance, and reliability analysis using engineering models and techniques, primarily through software development throughout the vertical stack.

Defines designs; Provides technical enablement for application components and subsystems for an Application(s). Drives important design decisions for development team.

Key Roles and Responsibilities:

-Work with developers, dbas, middleware, cloud infrastructure, production sustainment teams and external system partners to create forwarding looking system solution designs that leverage current technology including secure cloud connections and AI automation.

-Lead business and system requirement gathering sessions for our supply chain system applications. Collaborate with other technical team members to produce cost effective, secure system solutions to meet rapidly changing functional needs of our supply chain systems.

-Serve as lead IT functional analyst for enhancing projects impacting our supply chain organization.

-Collaborate directly with internal business customers to create system solutions to meet the business goals, objectives and requirements.

-Provide cost and effort estimates for design, development and testing for new enhancement projects presented which are presented to our supply chain organization.

-Provide tier 3 production support as needed to quickly triage, resolve and prevent production issues. Suggest and implement solutions to alert, prevent and automatically resolve production issues.

-Suggest automation enhancements to streamline repeatable processes via systematic solutions, AI based tools and BOTS. Provide guidance, direction and process improvements to internal and external IT teams.

-Requires expertise in querying, analyzing and developing applications within Oracle RAC and ExaCC database systems. Requires expert familiarity with Oracle's Supply Chain application suite and working knowledge with custom interfaces into and out of it. Working knowledge of ASPR, PCI and RPI compliance requirements. Knowledge of security and encryption methods necessary to interact with cloud based systems including SAAS and PAAS environments is required.

Qualifications:
  • 10+ years of technical experience designing, developing, automating, troubleshooting and supporting custom Oracle DB PL/SQL, Weblogic, Java based applications.
  • 10+ years of supporting custom enterprise supply chain applications that track customer orders and interface with Oracle Supply Chain and GSMA systems to track and blocklist IMEI based phones and devices.
  • Expert communication skills including the ability to effectively work with internal business customers and lead technical team members through the entire system delivery lifecycle including: requirements gathering, design, dev, test and deployment to production.
  • Ability to understand code management and migration, testing automation, security vulnerability scanning and remediation.
  • Understand of cloud-based interfaces, architecture and associated security requirements.
  • Understanding of virtual and physical hardware infrastructure and associated cost of maintenance.
  • Comfortable with making recommendations for process improvements and automation opportunities.


Education:

Preferred Bachelors of Science degree in Computer Engineering, Computer Science, Applied Science, Electrical Engineering, or Math; Developer nanodegree; or equivalent experience.

Our Lead System Engineering, earns between $143,800.00-$215,800.00 USD Annual , Not to mention all the other amazing rewards that working at AT&T offers. Individual starting salary within this range may depend on geography, experience, expertise, and education/training.
