Overview:



This position is responsible for developing design concepts for targeted market segments through market research and trend analysis. While also responsible for maintaining and building the scaled production files for Champion Teamwear's sublimation designs, while assisting in new garment silhouette design. Leads designers on merchandising for all marketing materials, organizing and maintaining sample needs and attending photo shoots.


This position is located in Manhattan, KS.



Responsibilities:



  • Converts original garment style utilized within Gerber Accumark and grade all style lines to the full-size run, ensure final pattern pieces are consistent across entire size run and accurate of garment details.

  • Utilizes Adobe Illustrator to simplify garment style to a 2D art preview of style lines and ensure proportionate representation of the original style in its base size.

  • Transfers custom primary design markings and notches to the final pattern files within Gerber presented as a default size run.

  • Conducts trend and competitor analysis regularly, and obtains information on new fabrics, trims, designs, and styling for assortment plan.

  • Assists in merchandising products and stories for upcoming catalogs and marketing materials ensuring to capture the needs of our target audience.

  • Partners with Graphic Designer- product and Validation Support-Attribution Coordinator to initiate, manage, and develop all files needed for photo samples that are used by Sales, Marketing, and Product Design.

  • Attend all photo shoots, on set stylist ensuring accuracy of product on body, and provide direction from a product and merchandising perspective.

  • Responsible for assisting in proofing of all marketing materials, ensuring information is accurate and product is of correct representation.

  • Designs and creates new sublimation designs for UltraFuse and Champion Made collection across various silhouettes, while accounting for market trends and sport uniform regulations.

  • Understands and regularly reviews NFHS, USGA, and other sport affiliated uniform requirements to ensure our designs are meeting consumer desire.

  • Attend and participate in all product fittings through development cycle.

  • Assist designer and Sr. designer levels with silhouette design, review of assortment planning, and line reviews as needed.

  • Assist with other various product development tasks including but not limited to, all company line reviews, sales clinics and training, wear testing etc.

  • Organize and maintain product development research and design closet.

  • Maintain and update necessary tracking documentation such as P2M calendars, order forms, design, color, and fabric scaling master lists.

  • Assist with special projects as needed, including research, designing, file building, and reviewing of garments.

  • Assists with quality assurance concerns, reviewing C-Sat, and customer orders providing recommendation and action for improvement on quality concerns.

  • Maintain bug report and file tracking for product development KPI's as needed.

  • Maintain clean and efficient work area.

  • Provide ideas and suggestions for improvement of processes; participate in efficiency evaluations as needed.




Qualifications:



  • Bachelor's degree in an apparel related field of study.

  • At least 2 years of related experience in design, merchandising, development or a manufacturing environment, especially in a garment industry or related soft goods industry preferred.

  • Working knowledge of Gerber Accumark Pro

  • Strong organizational skills.

  • Extreme attention to detail required and a proven ability to establish and maintain schedules and deadlines.

  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment, and pivot as necessary based on deadlines and workload.

  • Ability to work on a diverse assortment of product categories.

  • Strong computer skills, working knowledge of MS Office (Word, Excel, Outlook, Teams, Adobe Illustrator)

  • Ability to gather appropriate input and make clear, well-reasoned decisions.

  • Comfortable with a team-based work structure; ability to remain flexible to change within the work environment and scope of responsibility.

  • Resourceful and well organized, works well under pressure, able to multi-task.

  • Demonstrates initiative, is conscientious and provides complete follow-through on areas of responsibility.
