Purpose



Collaborates with the Southeast Region Office Managers, Regional Director and program Directors on outreach and marketing initiatives. The incumbent will work with staff assigned to marketing, outreach and volunteer recruitment to ensure a cohesive and unified plan across the Southeast Region. Responsible for connecting with and accessing community resources and services. Develops and implements a regional strategy to meet both regional and national goals for community engagement in support newcomers. Additional duties include event leadership capacity building and collaboration with faith partners and denominations.



Responsibilities





  • In collaboration with the Southeast Region Office Managers, Regional Director and program Directors. Coordinate local community outreach and engagement activities; Support the directors with planning and implementing local engagement events targeted at increasing access to local resources.

  • Create and implement effective local community engagement strategies for the recruitment of co-sponsor groups, interns and volunteers, including but not limited to corporations, businesses, universities, civic and faith-based organizations.

  • Ensure that the regional outreach and marketing are being done in a collaborate and unified manner.

  • Maintain day-to-day contact and provide technical assistance to staff on community engagement; Serve as the primary point of contact on matters relating to community engagement for national network staff.

  • Coordinate with CWS Community Engagement national staff to ensure a comprehensive approach to community engagement and provide support to the CWS network.

  • Represent the southeast region offices at internal and external conferences, meetings, committees and working groups with CWS colleagues and other stakeholders.

  • Assists Resettlement and community engagement staff with training of community volunteers and co-sponsorship teams by developing in depth training materials and holding informational and interactive educational sessions throughout the volunteer/co-sponsor onboarding process.

  • Participates in weekly meeting with the Resettlement team to assess client needs and mobilizes volunteers and co-sponsors to provide services according to CWS guidelines and Office Managers and Director instructions.

  • Oversee and assists co-sponsors with provision of core services in partnership with CWS R&P staff. Handles communication between caseworkers, refugee clients, volunteers and co-sponsor groups, and established refugee community groups with diplomacy and efficiency.

  • Assist in the completion of programmatic and financial reports for funders as required and assigned.

  • Properly collect migrant and refugee stories for education and community engagement opportunities.

  • Support other community engagement needs within the CWS SE Region.

  • Must have reliable transportation and a valid driver's license.

  • Perform other related duties as requested by the CWS Regional Director, Southeast and/or the Director of Resettlement, Southeast Region.




Qualifications




Education: Bachelor's degree or equivalent work experience in lieu of degree.



Experience: 5 years of experience in coordinating and conducting outreach activities, and resettlement services. 6 years experience working with refugee and immigrant populations.



Other Skills:



Strong computer skills. Demonstrate keen attention to detail and a strong ability to manage and protect confidential information. Possesses effective supervisory, personnel, and customer service skills. Exhibits excellent oral and written communications. Proficiency in both English and Spanish is required.



Special Requirements





  • Must have a valid driver's license and suitable transportation.

  • Must complete motor vehicle record check.

  • Must be willing and able to travel.

  • Background check required.
