Student worker jobs provide students with on-campus opportunities to gain valuable work experience related to their academic majors and interests. We will use your application to match you with our departments on campus. Please note that finding the right role for you may take some time.

Academic Support/Peer Mentors/Tutors- Peer Tutors/Mentors (Coach) help develop an enduring, trusting relationships with students and help them: 1) assist peers with course content area tutoring (in-person and/or virtually); and/or 2) with the transition from high school to college, 3) develop effective study strategies and life skills to implement within the classroom and outside of the classroom as students work toward individual academic and personal goals and 4) become more involved on campus by referring them to appropriate department and/or campus resources.



Access Center for Disability Resources- Not currently hiring




Admissions/ Student Ambassadors- A student in Admissions would assist with answering phones and checking in students either in the Admissions suite or at the second floor information desk, entering data into the Customer Relationship Management (CRM) system, providing campus tours, and general office needs such as filing, making copies, and preparing mail packets. They will also assist with event preparation.



Adult Education- Are you passionate about helping people improve their lives through education? Interested in interacting with students from more than 40 different countries? Waubonsee's Adult Education program serves more than 1,500 adults who are interested in learning English and/or preparing for their GED exams. Our FWS students will act as the office receptionist, greeting walk-ins and answering phone calls. Student workers also will help with our recognition ceremony and other events. Applicants must be fluent in English and Spanish.



Art Lab Assistant- The Art Department is hiring Studio Assistants - aspiring artists to assist Lab Tech and Coordinator. Preference will be given to candidates who have taken the corresponding art, photography, and/or ceramics class. Help with set up and take down of art labs. Keeping studios organized and clean. Monitoring open studio and lab times. Assist with installation of exhibitions as needed.



* Athletics/ Fitness Center- The Athletic Department is hiring for multiple positions. Weight Room Supervisors, Marketing and Social Media, Live Streaming games, assisting with game stats and game day operations, Facility and Grounds. We will certify you in CPR/First Aid. Come join us and support our Chiefs!



Biology Lab Assistant- The Biology Department is hiring Lab Assistants to assist Lab Techs and Coordinator. Preference will be given to candidates who have taken biology class. Help with set up and take down of lab experiments. Keeping laboratories organized and clean. Assist with other duties as needed.



* Bookstore- The Waubonsee Bookstores provides students with real life experience in a retail environment. If you are a self-starter, detail oriented, are open to learning new tasks each day, and have a passion for helping others please apply!



*Business, Technology and Workforce Education- Welding Do you have an interest in welding technology and customer service and wish to pick up a few hours of daytime work during the week? The Welding Technology Lab Assistant position offers students the opportunity to support faculty in our Welding Technology program. This student worker is responsible for a range of duties in daytime operations and tasks that contribute to efficient and safe welding lab operations. Hours of support coincide with our some of our daytime classes and directly support WLD faculty and students. This position is a fantastic resume-builder for a variety of professional career opportunities!



*Campus Services- We are looking for students who want to help make Waubonsee a better place inside and out! Events, maintenance, and grounds keeping.



Community Engagement and Development- As the Community Engagement and Development student worker you'll be representing the college at external events within our district (think local community events, fairs, festivals, etc.) by staffing the Waubonsee table and talking to students, faculty, staff, alumni, and community members, promoting what both the Waubonsee Community College and the Waubonsee Foundation have to offer. While in the office you will help with scanning, filing, mailings, event prep and planning, and general administrative duties. This position offers flexible hours and the opportunity to gain valuable experience in office duties, brand awareness, event coordination and community outreach.



Counseling and Student Support- Do you have an interest in mental health and wellness and a passion for supporting your peers? Join a team of Peer Support Leaders that promotes mental health wellness to our campus community.



Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion (DEI)- The Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion (DEI) Student Worker plays a vital role in supporting and advancing the college's commitment to creating an inclusive and welcoming environment at Waubonsee. This position provides an exceptional opportunity for motivated and passionate students to actively contribute to promoting diversity, equity, and inclusion initiatives on campus by supporting the Senior Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion Coordinator with planning and executing programs, workshops, trainings, and events. Financial Education - Money Matters- Come join the team of Peer Finance Educators. Money Matters is the financial education program for WCC students. The program meets peer-to-peer with students to work on personal budgeting, credit scores, debt management, paying for college and more. Workdays can include promoting the program at tables around campus, presenting at events, presenting in classrooms, and consulting students. No finance experience necessary.



Human Resources (HR)- not currently hiring



* Information Technology (IT)- The student worker position in the Information Security area provides a real-life experience in safeguarding college's digital assets from the known and unknown threats. If you are self-motivated, love new challenges every day, and are detail oriented - you will love this job!



Library- Not currently hiring



Marketing and Communications-Delve into the exciting world of Marketing and Communications! Support the staff by managing materials and assisting with special events. * Media Services (IT)- As part of IT, Media services provides support across campus for events, meetings, and daily AV services.

Student Accounts and Cashier Office- Not Currently hiring




Student Life- Student Life is a fast-paced office where students will be tasked with many responsibilities that could include the following: follow up with participants, staffing events and promotional tables, maintain Student Life bulletin boards and easels, data entry, etc. Students will gain experience working for Student Life, gain research, social, and organization skills and learn about logistics to event planning.



Student Services and Alumni Relations- Student Services and Alumni Relations is seeking a student employee to assist with staffing various alumni events, conducting alumni-related research, and gathering alumni data via social media (Facebook Twitter, LinkedIn). Applicants should be proficient with social media, have some knowledge/skill using spreadsheets, and have strong interpersonal skills. This position will develop one's knowledge and skill in providing quality customer service, strengthen one's attention to detail by working with data and spreadsheets, and enhance one's ability to plan and implement events.



Student Success and Retention- Come join the team as our Student Success Ambassador! As our Ambassador you'll be helping us with customer service, data entry/documentation, student outreach (phone/email/text), appointment scheduling, intake, event support, and special projects.
