Purpose and Scope
The Reliability Lead provides reliability of production and support equipment to increase the efficiency of production, leading the effectiveness of maintenance by creating and augmenting systematic work processes for maintenance. Is responsible for managing contractors, department planning, and purchasing activities to support the maintenance department.

Responsibilities

• Analyze complex reliability problems and determine cost-effective methods of correcting or improving equipment timely, utilizing failure analysis and CI principles.
• Identify and lead continuous improvement processes that enhance the development of work standards by completing structured job orders, ordering materials, and parts required to complete tasks. Maintain safety instructions and procedures.
• Responsible for leading the inventory and ordering functions of spare parts for the St. Clair Plant.
• Responsible for working with maintenance personnel and contractors on work orders that are contracted to non-Metallus general labor and tradesmen for work performed at the plant. This includes reviewing the scope of work, reviewing the labor and materials that will be used for the job, following up/managing the job while it is in process, and reviewing invoices to ensure billing was done correctly.
• Responsible for cost tracking of large projects to provide information regarding the progress and expected costs for projects as requested by site leadership.
• Work with production to coordinate a job order schedule that minimizes planned and unplanned downtime; assure timely completion of preventative and predictive jobs to optimize equipment reliability.
• Collaborate with operations to identify support needed from maintenance for production. Manages contractors to ensure planned site services are completed as planned and evaluates the effectiveness of the contracted services.
• Responsible for tracking and reporting maintenance KPIs.
• Demonstrate a true 'shop floor presence'. Work closely with maintenance, line operators, engineering, and leadership to understand the current state.
• Ability to manage other duties as assigned.

Technical & Functional Skills

• Strong electro-mechanical maintenance background with industrial machinery
• Project management and planning skills
• Ability to read and comprehend technical manuals, blueprints, and schematics.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills
• PLC, HMI, and CNC programming experience are a plus
• 2D and 3D CAD experience is a plus
• Proficient with Microsoft Office (MS Excel, MS PowerPoint, Outlook)
• Demonstrated interpersonal leadership skills.
• Strong problem-solving and decision-making skills
• Strong computer and reporting skills
• Knowledge and application of failure analysis and CI principles.

Minimum Qualifications

• High School Diploma and ten or more years of reliability experience.
• Associate degree in electrical or mechanical engineering with seven or more years of reliability experience.

Preferred Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in electrical or mechanical engineering with five or more years of reliability experience.
