Summary of Role:



Our GlobalFoundries team in Fab 9 - Essex Junction, VT is seeking a Sr. Engineer in Industrial Engineering for our 200mm Fab. This role includes working on designs systems and processes to increase the productivity of manufacturing. This role will be fully on-site on a Monday - Friday daytime schedule. Essential Responsibilities:



This person typically performs one or more of the following in capacity an individual contributor (as directed and/or independently):


  • Develops, designs, plans, and implements equipment and machine layouts, workflow production and capacity tools and models, and safety precautions to maximize utilization of plant and manufacturing facilities

  • Documents and ensures compliance with established industry safety and design standards and guidelines

  • Evaluates tool productivity and flow and recommends improvements to increase output and operating performance, reduce waste and delays and promote cost control/reductions

  • Develops and maintains metrics to measure plant and equipment capacity output and identifies equipment and process flow bottlenecks

  • Manages IE Systems, maintenance of inputs, execute regular refresh of data, and troubleshoot errors with stakeholders

  • Establishes accident prevention measures and plans and schedules training programs for personnel concerning all phases of production operation

  • Work and collaborate other projects and/or assignments as needed

  • Industrial Engineering support of Local Fab Process Teams

  • System Support of IE databases and related fab systems

  • Attend weekly team meetings and participate in team environments

  • Uses standard engineering methods to analyze and resolve problems




Other Responsibilities:



  • Works on projects, assignments and problems of moderate scope.

  • Perform all activities in a safe and responsible manner and support all Environmental, Health, Safety & Security requirements and programs

  • Other duties as assigned by manager / supervisor.




Required Qualifications:



  • Education - Bachelor of Science Degree and/or related military experience / training

  • Experience - Minimum 2-4 years of experience in relative field

  • Physical Capacity demands - includes wearing a cleanroom suit / other PPE as required, standing / walking for long periods of time

  • On-site support (not a fully remote position)

  • Ability and fluency to utilize Microsoft Office programs (Excel, Word, Teams, etc.)

  • Fluency in English Language - both Written and Verbal

  • Shows mastery of some aspects of a technical discipline, with recognition for his/her contributions as a technical team member.




Preferred Qualifications:



  • Experience - Master of Science Degree + 1-3 years of relevant experience

  • PhD Degree + 0-1 years relevant experience

  • Experience in the semiconductor industry as an Industrial Engineer

  • Practical knowledge of supply demand planning

  • Knowledge of coding languages such as: R, SAS, VBA

  • Experience using Kinaxis, or SiView




Expected Salary Range

$63,500.00 - $142,000.00
