Job Description:

The Project Expeditor is responsible for providing oversight of the operational planning and ongoing execution of large projects managed by the Regional PM team. Activities include driving schedule adherence, change management, technical and quality compliance, project financial performance, and risk assessment and mitigation. The process includes, but is not limited to, oversight of material flow, components, tooling, and administrative flow amongst departments and escalating and/or driving action to solve problems. This person will have primary responsibility to ensure BAC meets or exceeds customer expectations at the manufacturing facility while maximizing expected project profit margins.

PRINCIPAL ACCOUNTABILITIES


  • Primary manufacturing / plant contact for various issues and new projects led by the Regional PM team.

  • Produce and manage documentation required to meet all internal and customer requirements and project schedule.

  • Manage deadlines of key milestones in the project cycle.

  • Attending various meetings to effectively communicate with the customers regarding fabrication and production while fostering a positive customer experience that encourages retention and repeat business.

  • Schedule and lead meetings to ensure project milestones are met at BAC manufacturing plants as needed.

  • Provide regular updates to the assigned Project Manager and Project Management Team Lead.

  • Coordinating cross-functional teams to ensure all project components are executed according to plan, including procurement, manufacturing, and quality control.

  • Coordinate with internal BAC departments and external contractors as needed for purchasing/procurement, documentation requirements, inspections, shipping and sourcing, and testing as required.

  • Implement and organize any approved modifications, ensuring all changes are fully documented.

  • Develop and implement project plans, including timelines, budgets, and resources, to ensure operational efficiency and project success.

  • Analyze operational processes and recommend improvements to enhance productivity and reduce costs.

  • Ensures the maintenance and calibration of project-related equipment to ensure compliance with project requirements where needed.

  • Facilitate communication between project stakeholders, including regular status reports and project reviews, to ensure alignment and address any concerns.

  • Implement risk management strategies to identify potential project obstacles and develop contingency plans.

  • Conduct post-project evaluations to assess outcomes, document lessons learned, and integrate findings into future project planning processes.

  • Reviews product orders and contracts to fully understand deadlines and production quotas.

  • Maintains master production and delivery schedules for assigned projects.

  • Communicates with departments and assigned Project Manager when shipping delays occur.

  • Collects and analyzes data regarding efficiency and timeliness of production.

  • Contribute to a culture of continuous process improvement to eliminate redundant efforts in all functions through automation and process improvement.

  • Participation in programs essential to BAC culture, e.g., behavior-based safety, housekeeping, continuous improvement, security, and compliance to all legal and ethical standards.

  • Compliance to all local, regional, national, company, and all other applicable standards, laws, and procedures.

NATURE AND SCOPE

This position reports to the Project Management Team Lead and is expected to interact with various functional area managers as needed including but not limited to Manufacturing Engineering, Plant Operations, Plant Manager, Purchasing, and Quality Assurance.

KNOWLEDGE & SKILLS


  • Bachelor's Degree in Mechanical Engineering and 2 years of work experience preferred. Will also consider candidates with related Technical Degree and at least 3 years of experience in project management or operations

  • Prior successful project management experience, specifically with large or complex projects

  • Excellent organizational skills and ability to multi-task

  • Excellent customer service skills with strong verbal and written communications skills

  • Ability to negotiate through difficult issues without losing composure

  • Detail oriented and high sense of urgency

  • Excellent time management skills with a proven ability to meet deadlines.

  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.

  • Demonstrated cross functional effectiveness including but not limited to engineering, sales, applications, manufacturing, contracts, and quality

  • Thorough knowledge of BAC products and manufacturing processes including new products, incomplete designs, and non-standard applications

  • PMP certification is a plus

  • Working knowledge of Smartsheet is a plus
