CMS Chemical Supervisor at PPG INDUSTRIES INC in Savannah, Georgia

Job Description:

As the CMS Warehouse Supervisor, you will oversee a PPG aerospace industrial warehouse ensuring the safe and efficient handling of products. Leading a team of ten or more warehouse staff, you'll receive material, coordinate deliveries, manage chemical inventory, and implement process improvements, for the CMS programs supported by PPG Atlanta. With your expertise in Chemical Management Services, logistics, warehousing, and supply chain management, you'll contribute to our mission of delivering excellence in the Aerospace industry. This position is onsite at our Pooler, GA, facility. You will report to the CMS Manager.

Key Responsibilities

• Directly manage a team of 8-12 employees, responsible for all people management related tasks including training and development


• Maintain a safe, organized, and cost-effective distribution operation


• Coordinate logistics and delivery of products and supplies to warehouse and customers


• Manage the supply chain, reporting, and warehousing of complete chemical inventory


• Ensure familiarity with SDS sheets and proper storage of hazardous containers


• Update KPIs and provide important feedback to leadership


• Handle special projects such as equipment adjustments, recruitment, lean savings, and process improvements


• Ensure compliance with regulatory requirements and company policies in warehouse operations


• Implement and enforce best practices for inventory management and control

  Collaborate with teams to improve supply chain processes and resolve issues.

• 
  
  US Citizen


• Degree in supply chain management or technical field preferred but will consider a High School Diploma and experience in lieu of a degree.


• 1+ years experience in a supervisory, people management, lead or manager role is required.


• 1+ years of inventory or warehouse experience


• Knowledge or certifications in DOT regulations


• 49CFR, RCRA preferred
