The State of Connecticut Judicial Branch is seeking an Assistant Jury Administrator to work in Jury Administration’s Outreach Program to develop and deliver presentations and informative discussions that provides information to the public regarding jury service. The ideal candidate will have strong communication and interpersonal skills as well as experience in creating PowerPoint presentations. They should also be able to work effectively with a variety of stakeholders, including internal and external stakeholders. This position will be responsible for coordinating community outreach efforts, especially in diverse communities.

The selected candidate will:

  • Coordinate, develop and deliver presentations to the public and stakeholders on information regarding jury service.
  • Conduct research and track and report on the effectiveness of the Jury Outreach Program.
  • Coordinate community outreach efforts to promote awareness about jury service.
  • Stay up to date on jury trends and practices.
  • Inform the public and stakeholders of new legislation that will affect the public.
  • Plan and coordinate recognition events for jurors.
  • Be comfortable speaking in public.

In-state travel may be required.

Salary Range: $76,408 - $103,930/year – plus State of Connecticut benefits.

New employees begin at the minimum. The starting salary for existing state employees may be higher than the minimum, in accordance with existing Judicial Branch policy.

EXPERIENCE AND TRAINING

General Experience: Five (5) years of experience in governmental or regional planning, research and policy analysis methods and procedures analysis, organizational analysis, jury administration, or a related field. 

Substitutions Allowed: 

1) College training may be substituted for the General Experience on the basis of fifteen (15) semester hours equaling one-half (1/2) year of experience to a maximum of four (4) years for a Bachelor's degree.


2) A Master’s degree in Business Administration, Statistics or a related field or a law degree may be substituted for the General Experience.


3) Three (3) years of experience in jury administration at/or above the level of Court Services Clerk or Administrative Clerk or may be substituted for the General Experience.


4) One year of supervisory experience in jury administration at or above the level of Administrative Assistant or Clerical Supervisor may be substituted for the General Experience.
