Job Summary
Indiana University Southeast is seeking a highly motivated, passionate and versatile Athletic Coaching Specialist. This position will be responsible for assisting in all facets of recruiting, player development and organizational leadership within a nationally competitive NAIA Baseball program competing in the River States Conference. This role supports the general administration and organization of the IU Southeast baseball program and reports directly to the Head Baseball Coach
Department-Specific Responsibilities
Assists in the organization and administration of the IU Southeast baseball program.
Provides positive leadership for the students involved in the baseball program. Strive to motivate them in all phases of their lives; academically, athletically, and socially.
Assists the head coach in budget preparations.
Assists the head coach in the development and coordination of fundraising efforts for the team.
Assists in the supervision of baseball scouting and recruiting.
Assists in the coordination and implementation of practice for student-athletes in preparation for intercollegiate competition.
Assists in the coordination of the off-season conditioning program.
Supports head coach with the monitoring of academic progress and aid in dealing with academic matters within the baseball program.
Assists in the coordination of practice planning and workout schedules for student-athletes in preparation for intercollegiate competition.
Demonstrates willingness to adhere to regulating bodies, such as the NAIA, River States Conference, and the Indiana University system.
Assists in the education of the baseball student-athletes on policies set forth by the Code of Student Conduct and Athletic Department.
Helps the head coach ensure the proper care, maintenance, and security of the athletic facilities, baseball equipment, uniforms, and supplies.
Assists with game day administration for home games.
Responsible for ground maintenance on baseball field, softball field, and intramural field. Duties include mowing, weeding, seeding, and fertilizing athletic facilities/grounds.
General Responsibilities
Plans, conducts, oversees, and evaluates recreational programming.
Oversees the work activities of temporary employees.
Assists with marketing of recreational programming.
Maintains compliance by monitoring adherence to the established risk management plan.
Recommends program policies and procedures to leaders.
Qualifications
Combinations of related education and experience may be considered. Education beyond the minimum required may be substituted for work experience. Work experience beyond the minimum required may be substituted for education.
EDUCATION
Required
High school diploma or equivalent (such as HSED or GED)
Preferred
Bachelor's degree in Exercise Science, Recreation, Sports Management, or related field
WORK EXPERIENCE
Required
4 years of related experience with recreational programming
Preferred
Experience in coaching baseball at the collegiate/professional level.
Experience developing and implementing innovative and effective player-development programing.
Experience with baseball technology: Blast Motion, Rapsodo, Pitch Logic and other player development tools.
Experience in digital (video editing) & social media with strong organizational & communication skills.

Preventing Disease Transmission/Universal Precautions within 180 Days From Date of Hire
May required related recreational certifications

Working Conditions / Demands
