Description

The Field Engineer is responsible for assembly, installation, integration, and testing of simulator visual display systems and will work among customers ranging from military, space, public safety, marine, and aircraft manufacturers. This is a full-time, benefited, non-exempt position out of our Orlando, FL office.

Responsibilities

As a member of our Project Team the primary duty of the FE is customer-facing, on-site work assembling, modifying, and configuring simulation visual display systems. Typical tasks include but are not limited to the following:
  • Dome-screen installation
  • Truss assembly
  • Projector mounting and configuration
  • Cable installation (Cat5, Fiber, Copper), dressing and marking
  • Basic networking (Layer 2 switch installation/configuration, hardware addressing)
  • Computer configuration (imaging, software installation)
  • Data collection with test equipment
  • Low-voltage electrical
  • Conduct site acceptance testing
  • Conduct system training
  • Provide status reports
  • Coordinate/lead third party contractors
  • Assist with the creation of technical documentation
  • Participate in project preparations and proposal reviews

As a member of the Support Team:
  • The successful and timely handling and resolution of customer support tickets
  • Interface internally and with customers to facilitate repair and maintenance procedures
  • Provide training for customers on system operation and troubleshooting problems during training missions
  • Service and support missions both off and on-site

As a member of our Production Team:
  • Perform incoming inspections on parts from suppliers
  • Assemble, test, pack, and ship products

General:
  • Participate in company meetings
  • Work toward continuous quality improvement
  • Stay current with changing technology, including software and programs
  • Uphold, support, and promote all company policies and procedures
  • Other duties as assigned or required

QUALIFICATIONS
  • 3 years relevant experience
  • A combination of technical and mechanical assembly/construction experience
  • Ability to lift 50 lbs. overhead and work on ladders, lifts, and scaffolds at height
  • Must be able to pass background check to obtain security clearance
  • Willing and able to travel up to 75%, CONUS and OCONUS

CERTIFICATES, LICENSES, REGISTRATIONS
  • Current valid US driver license and passport required

  • Simulator Visual Display System Experience (Installation and/or Maintenance)
  • Field/Remote work experience doing installation/construction projects
  • Team leadership experience
  • Networking/Computer experience

  • Focused: attention paid to critical details

  • Simulation industry experience or experience on US government/defense programs
