Job Description:

Job Summary:
The position of Housekeeping Supervisor is responsible for overseeing the work of housekeeping staff and ensuring that the establishment and its facilities are kept clean and tidy throughout shifts. This role is responsible for enforcing staff compliance with established safety and sanitation policies.
Reports to:General Manager or Operations Manager

Specific Responsibilities:
Inspect all rooms to ensure they are in compliance with company standardsSupervise housekeepers and assist as neededMaintain a high morale amongst the housekeeping teamOrdering of the needed products for housekeeping servicesOversee daily operationsAssists room attendants and laundry attendantsEstablish and educate staff on cleanliness, tidiness, and hygiene standardsMotivate team members and resolve any issues that occur on the jobRespond to customer complaints and special requestsMonitor and replenish cleaning products stock including floor cleaner, bleach, and rubber glovesParticipate in large cleaning projects as requiredRespond to emails, phone calls, and guest inquiries as representation of the housekeeping department Ensure rooms are kept from hazards or safety violationsObtain list of rooms to be cleaned immediately and list of prospective check-outs or discharges to prepare work assignmentsRecord and keep data regarding work assignments, and also prepare reports on a routine basisResponsible for issuing work equipment and supplies to the housekeeping staff/workersMakes recommendations to improve service and ensure more efficient operationAdvise manager on duty, or guest service agent, of rooms ready for occupancyDeliver and retrieve items on loan to guests e.g. iron and ironing boardsAll other duties as assigned

Sufficient education and literacy needed to identify and read product labels and to communicate with guests about job-related needsAbility to read, write, speak, and communicate in basic English preferredPrevious experience in a supervising position preferred2 years of housekeeping experience preferred
