Description: Our client is currently seeking a Licensed Practical Nurse




Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN)



The Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) plays a crucial role in delivering quality nursing care to patients. The LPN ensures that patient medical needs are met through interpersonal contact and works with the treatment team to provide a consistent therapeutic environment for patients. The LPN plays a direct role in saving our patients' lives each day by serving them in a safe environment promoting long-term recovery. Prior experience with administering medication in a detox/residential/PHP facility setting or hospital is required.



Essential Functions: The LPN will be expected to perform the following tasks:



  • Administer scheduled and PRN medications, including subcutaneous and intramuscular injections under RN supervision.

  • Administer and read PPDs.

  • Monitor patient self-administration of medications.

  • Oversee and maintain the functionality of the medication room, ensuring proper storage and stock maintenance.

  • Assist with filling all physician orders, labs, and progress notes for all patients.

  • Receive telephone and verbal orders from physicians and mid-level providers.

  • Ensure proper documentation of medications, including PRNs and their effects on patients.

  • Review the medical section of each chart for accuracy and ensure that labs and testing results are accessible daily in the electronic medical record.

  • Collaborate with physicians and RN to determine the patient's plan of care.

  • Document nursing notes and vital signs as defined by Policy & Procedure.

  • Assist the RN with nursing assessments and admissions.

  • Provide insulin administration to insulin-dependent diabetics and assist patients newly diagnosed with glucose monitoring and proper diet teaching.

  • Conduct nursing groups focusing on health information including infectious disease, nutrition, and various medical and mental health conditions.

  • Provide discharge medication and follow-up education.

  • Collect urine specimens and document results from UDS, UA, and Pregnancy tests.

  • Assess withdrawal symptoms via COWs and CIWAs.

  • Attend team meetings and complete all training courses timely as required.

  • Perform other duties as assigned.


Required Education and Experience:



  • Must be a Licensed Practical Nurse in the state seeking employment.

  • Prior experience with chemical addiction and/or mental health disease including psychopharmacology.

  • CPR (Cardiopulmonary resuscitation) certification.

  • Minimum of one (1) year experience working in substance abuse and/or mental health field.

  • The ability to triage in an emergency, assisting with nurses in medical emergencies.
