Role Overview: As a Mid/Senior Structural Engineer at VAA, you'll play a crucial role in designing structural systems and foundations. Our projects are global, including high-wind and seismically active locations.
Responsibilities:
Engineer new facilities, expansions, and retrofits using analytical skills and technical expertise.
Develop innovative, code-compliant solutions through software and manual calculations.
Provide guidance to technicians and engineers.
Prepare proposals, design documents, and estimate project fees.
Communicate effectively and generate preliminary concepts.
Senior Engineer Responsibilities:
Manage client relationships and serve as the primary technical client contact.
Set standards for technical excellence and efficiency.
Supervise, mentor, and train engineers and technical staff.
Manage project scope, schedules, budgets, and billing.
Conduct technical document reviews.
Perform site observations/evaluations (potential for 25% travel to construction sites).
Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree in civil engineering with a structural engineering emphasis.
Mid-Level:
5+ years of experience without a Professional Engineer (PE) license or 4 years of experience with a PE (preferred).
Senior Level:
Licensed Professional Engineer (PE) with 8+ years of experience.
