SUMMARY/PURPOSE
The Production Manager is a key role in our Ridgefield facility, and you will take responsibility for directing and coordinating the production operations of our Ridgefield manufacturing facility, with cross functional responsibility. You will assume responsibility for following schedules, performance standards, costs, methods, operations, and quality of production. You
will coordinate the activities with all operating departments to support company objectives and ensure that the Ridgefield facility in meeting established commitments.


ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
• Initiates and directs the development of and adherence to safety practices and procedures and assumes ultimate responsibility for environmental regulations, plant housekeeping and safety.
• Monitors actual versus planned performance of manufacturing departments; pursues and implements remedies to problems. Assumes responsibility for the quality of product and quality of the workplace.
• Plans and coordinates work, trains and motivates, monitors and evaluates performance of subordinate supervisors; counsels, records and disciplines as necessary.
• Responsible for supporting production budgets, production schedule/plan and establishing and meeting departmental goals and objectives.
• Collaborates with Senior Management and Supervisors on all critical task as they come up.

• Develops plans for efficient use of material, machines and employees.
• Reviews production costs and production quality, and modifies production and inventory control program to maintain and enhance profitable operations.
• Support and Manage Key Performance Indicators (KPI’s) in alignment to cost control, quality and safety.
• Key driver of operational optimization through clear goal development and KPI implementation.
• Manage and oversee daily production data collection making sure it is done accurately and timely.
• Demonstrates leadership and judgment consistent with company philosophy, goals and objectives.
• Interprets and applies company policies and procedures, and ensures that established policies, rules, regulations and procedures are followed.
• Work with contractors and/or be aware of their functional purpose when in the plant if related to production.
• Order production supplies as needed.
• Manage additional task as needed.


SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES
Manages Production operations and Warehouse. Carries out management responsibilities in accordance with the organization’s policies and applicable laws. Responsibilities include interviewing, hiring and training employees, planning, assigning and directing work, appraising performance, rewarding and disciplining employees, and addressing complaints and resolving problems.


QUALIFICATIONS / EDUCATION / EXPERIENCE
Ability to lead, motivate, select, train and instruct personnel. Good interpersonal, organization and communication skills. Thorough understanding of production process and manufacturing capabilities. Must demonstrate strong decision making skills, sound judgment and the ability to adapt to a rapidly changing work environment. Bachelor’s degree in either business or engineering preferred and 10 years industry experience with at least 5 years in a management role which afforded exposure to all areas of plant operations, or equivalent combination of education and experience.


LANGUAGE SKILLS
Ability to read, analyze, and interpret common scientific and technical journals, financial reports and legal documents. Ability to respond to common inquiries or complaints from customers, regulatory agencies, or members of the business community. Ability to effectively present information to top management.
