Cantor Fitzgerald is seeking a highly motivated, talented candidate with a minimum of 2 to 4 years of accounting experience in the financial services industry. This position provides analytical and accounting assistance to the Equity Compensation Financial Control team. The ideal candidate will possess strong analytical skills and a willingness to grow and learn about the equity compensation reporting process in a large multi-national firm. Responsibilities will include (but are not limited to) the following:
Responsible for calculating the compensation and tax expense for all equity based awards (RSUs) for Cantor Fitzgerald, BGC and Newmark entities.
Process monthly / quarterly journal entries to ensure accuracy and completeness of financial data pertaining to equity awards
Perform monthly balance sheet and expense account reconciliations for profit and loss and balance sheet accounts
Prepare ad-hoc reports for senior management and draft footnotes for 10-Qs and 10-Ks
Work collaboratively with multiple process owners across the organization globally to ensure complete and accurate accounting
Participate in the documentation and improvement of accounting processes
Desired Skills and Experience:
Bachelor's degree in Accounting
2 - 4 years of experience in an accounting department
Extensive experience using MS Excel. Must be able to work with large amounts of data including Pivot tables, Lookups and a wide range of formulas
Working with accounting software, preferably Oracle
Strong written and verbal communication skills
Highly organized and detail oriented with the ability to work in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment
Ability to multitask and prioritize time sensitive assignments
Excellent research and problem solving skills with the ability to proactively seek solutions
Gatekeeper of highly sensitive and confidential information
Salary: $ 95,000 - $ 100,000
The actual base salary will be determined on an individualized basis taking into account a wide range of factors including, but not limited to, relevant skills, experience, education, and, where applicable, licenses or certifications held. In addition to base salary and a competitive benefits package, this position may be eligible for additional types of compensation including discretionary bonuses and other short- and long-term incentives (e.g., deferred cash, equity, etc.).
