POSITION - Union: Production Utility III (BGC-MA-Pittsfield) (R-07517)
NUMBER OF POSITIONS - 1
LOCATION - BGC-MA-Pittsfield
HOURLY RATE - $ 32.00
REPORTS TO: Pete Dion - Production Supervisor
Responsibilities: Under direct supervision of qualified personnel, perform or assist with work related to natural gas distribution that includes but not limited to the maintenance of gate stations, propane air plants, district regulator pits and industrial meter sets, calibration of SCADA, gas detection equipment and odorizers as well as other Production department related tasks. Position requires placement within the "Production on-call" calendar and residency requirements once qualified. Perform other duties that may be assigned.
Minimum Qualifications:
• Must have knowledge of and understand electrical, electronic, and telephone circuits
• Ability to troubleshoot and repair instrumentation devices
• Ability to work from instruction manuals and assembly drawings
• Ability to lift heavy objects directly from the ground or from overhead
• Display knowledge of safety procedures and rules of the company
• High school diploma or equivalent GED
• Valid Driver's License
• Be able to pass a full-face respirator medical exam
Skills and Requirements:
• Possess strong verbal and written communication skills
• Effective problem-solving skills with attention to detail and the analytical ability to evaluate complex data and apply good judgment to take appropriate follow up actions as needed while working without close supervision
• Strong PC skills along with proficient knowledge and use of Microsoft Excel and word applications
• Use of hand tools
• Must have good organizational skills and the ability to handle multiple tasks with frequent interruptions
• Must possess dexterity for operating hand and power tools in a safe manner.
• Must be highly productive and results oriented and willing to work in a team environment
• Ability to work in underground and confined space regulator vaults
• Ability to work in all weather conditions
