Director Family Nurse Practitioner (FNP) Program, Clinical Associate or Full Professor, School of Nursing and Health Studies (SONHS)
The University of Miami (UM) School of Nursing and Health Studies (SONHS) seeks to hire an FNP -Program Director. The successful candidate will be eligible for appointment at the rank of Associate or Full Clinical Professor.

Among nursing schools for FY24, the SONHS' scientific portfolio is ranked 16th in the nation for NIH funding. The School houses several notably ranked and accredited academic programs, including baccalaureate degrees in nursing science, public health, and the health sciences, as well as master's programs, post-master's certificates, and doctoral programs, including the PhD (Doctor of Philosophy in Nursing Science) and DNP (Doctor of Nursing Practice).
The Director of the FNP Program is a full-time faculty member prepared at the Doctoral level, with specific administrative responsibilities as essential components of employment. The FNP Program Director reports to the Associate Dean for Graduate Clinical Programs. The Director, who provides direct oversight for a population-focused track, should be Board Certified Family Nurse Practitioner with valid license.
Responsibilities:
Admission of Students
Coordinate and collaborate with the office of student services in the admission process
Coordinates applicants' interviews with other faculty members
Review all applicant files for completeness and for GAP analysis if necessary
Present applicant files to the Graduate Academic Standing and Admission Committee
Faculty
Lead the faculty in curriculum development of clinical focused track
Coordinate annual curriculum evaluation of the program with Graduate Committee
Asses the need for faculty in the clinical focused track
Collaborate with the Associate Dean for Graduate Clinical Programs in evaluation of faculty members
Assist faculty with their professional development
Identify and recommend potential faculty for recruitment
Schedule regular meeting with the faculty in the population- focused track
Clinical Supervision
Maintain communication and work cooperatively with clinical instructors and community partners
Obtain qualified preceptors at each clinical facility
Asses the academic needs of the students in the program and coordinate a plan to address those needs
Receive and review the completion of faculty and student's evaluation per course and submit to the Associate Dean for Graduate Clinical Programs
Graduation
Review population focused track pending graduates academic folders for completeness
Prepare documentation for certification agencies for students requesting certification exams.
Prepare semester reports to the Associate Dean of MSN programs
Qualification:
PhD or other Doctorate Degree in Nursing.
Candidates must have an outstanding portfolio in advanced nursing education, a distinguished record of academic scholarly achievement, publications, and experience mentoring students.
Experience with academic and clinical leadership.
Board Certified Family Nurse Practitioner license.
Experience with directing FNP or other NP programs is preferred.
