Position Summary

DESCRIPTION:

To manage the Spartan Volunteer Network; to provide leadership and administrative support to related student programing and other community service-oriented efforts.



OUTCOMES:
In alignment with the mission, values, and initiatives of the Center for Community Engagement, the Director of Volunteer Engagement will strategically identify, support, promote, develop, and expand volunteer engagement opportunities that make a positive impact throughout the York County, PA region and foster student learning, engagement, leadership development, and civic responsibility.

Essential Functions

Strategically identify, support, promote, develop, and expand volunteer engagement and leadership opportunities for YCP students and YCP community members; coordinate annual, campus-wide volunteer engagement initiatives 25%

Promote learning, engagement, leadership development, and civic responsibility among YCP student volunteers 15%

Work with First Year Experience and General Education coordinator to design and deliver content 10%

Assess student learning and engagement 5%

Support recruitment, selection, and retention processes of student volunteers 10%

Develop and maintain campus and community partnerships 15%

Manage administrative responsibilities, including volunteer engagement programming budget, Spartan Volunteer Network portal, volunteer clearances, and other related duties 10%

Other projects as assigned 10%

Experience and Education Required

EXPERIENCE AND EDUCATION REQUIRED:

Bachelor's degree in pertinent field required

Minimum 1 to 3 years' experience working with volunteer engagement programming

Ability to motivate students

Excellent interpersonal skills

Ability to interact positively with college and community partners

Excellent verbal and written communication skills

Budget management, information management, and spreadsheet skills

Ability to work independently with little supervision

Ability to organize and prioritize multiple assignments

Willingness to work some night and weekend hours as needed
