There is a place for you at Highland Rivers Behavioral Health!Highland Rivers provides treatment and recovery services to individuals impacted by mental illness; substance use disorders and intellectual developmental disabilities.JOB SUMMARY:The Supported Employment Specialist helps people who are receiving services from Highland Rivers Behavioral Health for severe mental health problems, substance abuse or addiction find jobs they like and will be good at. We believe everyone recovering from mental health issues or substance abuse is able to work at a good job - if the right job and work environment can be found for them.

The Listening, Inspiring, and Guiding Healthy Transitions (LIGHT) Program is an Early Treatment Program (ETP) that provides transitional services to individuals in Cobb County. The LIGHT Program is a team based, multi-element approach to treating transition age youth and young adults, ages 16-30 years old with FEP (First Episode Psychosis).Are you ready to make a Difference?Duties and Responsibilities include:


  • Secures job placement for individuals in their community. Negotiates with employers to develop suitable job(s) for individuals.

  • Make face to face contacts with individuals according to the IPS Model and Georgia Vocational Rehabilitation Agency

  • Manage a caseload by ensuring all services are authorized, chart paperwork is complete and current, and individual charts are closed according to Policy and Procedure.

  • Link Individual to potential employer within 30 days of receiving referrals based on Individual preference.

  • Responsible for keeping all charts in compliance with APS, QI, CARF, DBHDD standards and submit ALL required reports by due date

  • Completes all appropriate documentation on a daily basis while with the individual.

  • Actively participates in multidisciplinary treatment/recovery team meetings each week.

  • Maintains therapeutic professional boundaries when working with individuals and families.

  • Participates in and receives certification for Supported Employment from the University of Georgia's Institute for Human Development and Disability.

  • Other duties as assigned.
