The Clinical Neurotrauma Laboratory directed by Kei Kawata PhD, is a well-funded, high publishing laboratory in the area of concussion and subconcussive neural injury. The lab currently houses a number of high achieving postdoctoral fellows, PhD students, technicians, undergraduate research assistants. We employ laboratory subconcussion model and naturalistic field studies to precisely study concussive and subconcussive neural burden using blood biomarkers (proteomic/microRNA/exosome), neuro-ophthalmologic measures, and advanced neuroimaging. Our collaboration network is broad, as we collaborate with many notable neurotrauma scholars, as well as interdisciplinary scholars in areas, like biomedical engineering, gastroenterology, biological informatics, and psychiatry. The overarching goal of the laboratory is to study whether, and to what extent, repetitive subconcussive head impacts influence short- and long-term brain health.
Job Summary
Performs moderately complex experiments while following research techniques and procedures.
Develops procedures and protocols in collaboration with leadership.
Prepares research reports or analyses for projects.
Maintains safety records and ensures safety/compliance procedures and protocols are followed.
May provide guidance and support to junior-level staff in laboratory operations.

The role regularly requires the ability to effectively communicate. The role frequently requires the ability to move about the work environment and to position oneself to operate laboratory equipment effectively.
