Job Description:

Vertiv Americas is hiring a Senior Buyer in Westerville, OH to join our dynamic team. This position involves planning and purchasing products to meet demand needs while maintaining optimal inventory levels. The Senior Buyer will address shortages and support daily product evolution. This position is crucial for securing the necessary materials to fulfill customer and business requirements. The candidate will work with more complex suppliers and navigate supply chain changes and development. We are open to filling in an alternate Vertiv office location for the right candidate.


RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Work with the SIOP and demand team, sending forecasts to suppliers.
  • Tactical creation and issuance of purchase orders to approved suppliers based on the demand.
  • Work with suppliers to expedite material as needed to support production needs driven by customer demand.
  • Supportsinternal customers, i.e., Offering managers/Warranty team/NPDI/Project Managers
  • Reconcile/resolve invoice discrepancies and route the next steps to the appropriate functional groups.
  • Coordinate information between suppliers, Materials & Commodity Management; provide products availability, pricing, and shipping information.
  • Adheres to spot buy and freight cost management processes to minimize total cost to the business.
  • Investigate multiple options with the commodity team for and negotiate favorable pricing/terms on spot buys.
  • Create/maintain purchase order lines for surcharges due to tariffs, freight, expediting, package, etc.
  • Coordinate with the quality and logistics teams for any manufactory rework due to quality issues.
  • Monitor production and transit lead time, and adjust the PO issue date based on the changes.
  • Work with project managers, the commodity team, and new suppliers with manufactories transfer.
  • Process and monitor the consignment process.
  • Work with suppliers to control material inventories.
  • Performs other relatedduties as assigned.

QUALIFICATIONS



Minimum Job Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in purchasing, supply chain management, or equivalent functional experience required
  • 7+ years of experience

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal
  • Excellent customer service skills
  • Excellent organizational, analytical, and interpersonal skills
  • Detail-oriented
  • Ability to work and multi-task in a fast-paced environment
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office, especially Excel
  • Experience with ERP/MRP systems is preferred
  • Understanding of business financials

EDUCATION AND CERTIFICATIONS

  • Bachelor's degree in purchasing, supply chain management, or equivalent functional experience required.
