Sigma Plastics of Lyndhurst, NJ has an immediate opening for an Electro Mechanical Technician.
Responsibilities include:
Performs preventative maintenance, inspections, and repairs for electrical and mechanical equipment, devices and components.
Ensures operation of machinery and mechanical/electrical requirements on PLC's, VFD drives, motors, pneumatic tools, conveyor systems, and production machines; following diagrams, sketches, operation manuals, manufactures instructions, and engineering specifications; troubleshooting malfunctions.
Repairs, replaces or installs various power transmission systems and components, including electrical and mechanical devices, such as gears, pulleys, sprockets, belts of various designs, bearings, drive shafts and couplings
Repairs, replaces, or installs various pneumatic systems and components, including such items as air lines, air cylinders, valves, solenoids, pipe, manifolds, and pneumatic circuits
Repairs, replaces, or installs various single and three phase electrical systems and components, such as motors, switches, wiring, conduit, PLC's, data lines, communication lines, motor starters, contactors, fuses, light bulbs, encoders, and circuit breakers
Repairs, replaces, or installs various hydraulic systems and components to include but not limited to cylinders, pumps, valves, solenoids, motors, hose, pipe and manifold
Communicates to upper management on status of equipment downtime
Answers trouble calls throughout the day should any equipment breakdown or malfunction
Any other tasks assigned by management
The ideal candidate must possess
A sense of urgency on troubleshooting and repairing equipment for minimal downtime
Ability to use / operate power and hand tools
Ability to work independently and/or part of a team
