Hourly Rate - $41.19 - $42.19
Responsibilities
Transports and operates mobile equipment such as trenchers; flatbed trucks used to transport construction equipment; tractor-trailers; and their accessories.
May be required to act as helper to an Equipment Driver/Operator "'A'" assigned to operate a cable-operated crane of 40 tons or more capacity and having a boom 100 feet or more long.
Performs inspection and field maintenance work on equipment; assists mechanics in shop maintenance of equipment covered by this classification.
May direct one or two employees assisting him; assists in training new operators.
Completes running records and performs other routine clerical duties related to his work.
Does other related or less skilled work as required.
Skills and Requirements
Prior experience in the operation of equipment is desirable.
Should have completed 2 years of high school or equivalent.
Should be familiar with Company Safety Rules and able to render practical First Aid.
Must pass Company performance test. Must be able to quality for required licenses
Qualifications
Normal health, physique and use of senses as indicated by passing the required physical examination given by a Company physician.
Strength adequate for arduous labor in all kinds of outdoor weather conditions.
Must be willing to work irregular and/or extra hours as required.
Must be willing to work under unusual or special working conditions and surroundings, as well as the normal working conditions pertaining to this job.
Must be particularly alert in observing hazards and avoiding accidents.
