Kirby Inland Marine is Now Hiring a Lead Operations Supervisor, located in Channelview, TX. This role will be responsible for scheduling and managing field personnel and their training requirements to ensure highest quality safety and performance standards.
Responsibilities
Oversee the management and scheduling of manpower for both internal and external customers.
Manage safety and training requirements to ensure compliance with company, customer, facility, and federal requirements including the following:
Annual site-specific training
Annual company specific training including Computer Based Training and AWO requirements.
Complete annual performance evaluations for tankermen and schedulers
Close coordination with other Kirby departments to meet Kirby and customer requirements.
Manage LM lightering hose operations.
Manage jobs distributed to vendors and their performances to ensure compliance with Kirby policies and procedures.
Ensure the supervision of the field personnel and that the correct training is provided.
Assist with procedure development and implementation to ensure safe operations.
Complete various projects similar to the following:
Incident Investigations
Service Incident Investigations
Manpower requirement analysis for various operating areas within Kirby Logistics Management
Manage supplies for tankering operations.
Interact with local customer base to ensure their demand needs are met and to resolve any incidents.
Management and oversight of vendor tankermen
Charter Vessel visits and safety audits as assigned.
Vet and manage ODJFELL orders, to ensure product compatibility and the loading constraints on the barge are not exceeded.
All other duties as assigned.
Qualifications
Organized, detail-oriented and accurate.
Strong written and verbal communication skills
Strong computer skills (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Oasis, and Oracle).
Good organizational and time management skills.
Strong interpersonal and communication skills and the ability to work effectively with both Internal as well as External Customers.
Ability to make decisions and exercise good judgment.
Ability to operate a company motor vehicle. Must have a valid driver’s license and good driving record.
Working knowledge of boat and barge operations including types of personnel
Presentation and training skills
Education/Experience:
Current MMC with PIC (DL-barge) and/or (LG-barge) endorsement preferred.
Minimum 3 years’ experience in the marine industry, including thorough working knowledge of tank barge operations and Kirby tank barge equipment.
