Position Overview
The Director, will join a leadership cohort, providing both operational oversight and tactical support for Invenergy's NERC Reliability Compliance programs: Real Time Operations, CIP, and Internal Controls. In this role, the Director will be primarily responsible for ensuring Operating Projects remain poised to demonstrate compliance through internal controls, enhanced workflow processes, technical acumen, and performance metrics. Based out of our downtown Chicago office, the Director will utilize its engineering, cyber security, and regulatory compliance administration expertise, to fulfil the job responsibilities with limited managerial oversight and cross-functional collaboration. This role will have direct reports.
Responsibilities
Co-lead adherence to Invenergy's Real Time Operations and CIP regulatory compliance programs in North America and Canada
Independently drive end-to-end planning, coordination, and execution of assigned deliverables supporting compliance monitoring activities
Monitor and report non-compliance with internal policies and external requirements
Design and deliver compliance and technical training to internal support groups and field personnel
Develop and empower junior staff
Deliver KPI driven program level reporting
Maintain awareness of emerging utility industry and cyber security issues through benchmarking
Perform other job-related duties as assigned
Required Skills
7+ years of demonstrated direct NERC Program leadership experience (693 & CIP) and/or equivalent industry experience
5+ years of progressive experience in protection system, power plant operations and/or design is highly preferred
3+ years of managing direct reports of various levels
Progressive renewable generation technology experience, a plus
Ability to identify and solve complex problems
Strong interpersonal skills with the desire to work in a fast-paced entrepreneurial environment and meet deadlines
Ability to use discretion in handling confidential information
Advanced organizational, presentation/facilitation, and verbal/written communication skills
Degree in Electrical Engineering, Power Systems, Business Management, Law, Information Technology or related discipline
Proficient in the use of Microsoft Office products, KPI software, and Adobe Acrobat.
Willingness to travel between 5-10%.
