Data Engineer



As a Data Engineer, you'll be responsible for designing, developing, and maintaining data architecture and business intelligence capabilities. Your role involves ensuring efficient data flow, management, and consumption across our business systems. Collaborating with cross-functional teams, you'll implement robust data pipelines and contribute to the overall data strategy.



Essential Responsibilities:

• Coordinate with technical staff to develop database architectures, coding standards, and quality assurance procedures.


• Implement redundant systems for disaster recovery and data archiving, ensuring data availability, protection, and integrity.


• Plan capacity and resource expansion for scalable data warehouses.


• Research and recommend data warehouse products, services, and standards.


• Build relationships with development teams and vendors to understand data architectures and integration requirements.


• Evaluate and select data warehouse components (hardware, ETL software, etc.).


• Orchestrate business intelligence projects and SDLC phases.


• Communicate data requirements with stakeholders.


• Design, code, test, and document BI systems, data pipelines, and applications.


• Develop metadata, reports, and ETL guidelines.


• Identify and address inefficiencies in existing data warehouses.


• Resolve data warehouse access and performance issues.

Qualifications:

• Associate or bachelor's degree in computer science, software engineering, or equivalent IT experience.


• 5+ years of technical experience designing, building, and supporting multi-terabyte data warehouses.


• 3+ years of experience with databases, cloud platforms (preferably SQL Server, SSIS, and Azure), data architecting, and large-scale data modeling.


• Proficiency in in-house data-intensive tools (e.g., SSRS, PowerBI, Azure Data Studio).


• Familiarity with D365 Financial and Operations, Customer Experience data models.


• Strong understanding of relational database structures and data privacy practices.
