Job Type: Hybrid (Likely 2 days onsite, possibly 3 in the beginning)
Location: Preferred in San Antonio. Presence in San Antonio is important initially to meet/work with the current team.
Job Description:
The System Engineer/Cloud Administrator will participate in the technical delivery of IT systems/Cloud Services to internal and external customers and participate in corporate infrastructure projects as needed. The candidate should have the ability to adapt to evolving technologies and learn new tools and techniques to stay updated in the rapidly changing cloud/on-prem infrastructure landscape.
The candidate must be willing to learn new technologies and be independent. Good customer service skills are super important. The candidate must have worked within a fast-paced environment. The candidate must be willing to learn AWS and Meraki if they do not already have these skills.
Responsibilities:
Participate in the day-to-day operational support and service delivery of the IT Infrastructure by responding to incidents and changes through the internal ticketing system.
Develop and implement technical solutions based on infrastructure strategy.
Provision and maintain VMs in the Cloud infrastructure.
Monitor and maintain cloud infrastructure for performance, availability, and security (IAM).
Manage and monitor the VM instances in the Cloud (at the OS layer).
Train and mentor junior staff when needed.
Provide after-hours support based on the scheduled rotation or as needed.
Requirements:
Basic understanding of the big picture of how the network integrates with Cloud solutions.
Thorough knowledge and use of IT service management, IT Operations management, and IT Business management or understanding of asset management system.
Expert knowledge and use of Windows OS and O365 Office products.
Experience in setting up and monitoring system backups.
Experience with monitoring and logging tools.
Excellent troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.
Knowledge of software installation, patching, and troubleshooting.
Ability to troubleshoot and resolve issues related to cloud infrastructure, networking, and applications running in Cloud environments.
Strong communication skills to interact with clients, understand their requirements, and provide timely support and solutions.
Knowledge of software installation, patching, and troubleshooting.
Knowledge of imaging workstations.
Knowledge of Entra ID users and privileges.
Knowledge of VPN setup, support, and install.
Knowledge of wireless networks setup and support.
Nice to Have:
Automation/Scripting skills.
Basic understanding of Microsoft Intune/Autopilot.
Replication/migration tool vendor experience.
Experience with network devices (Cisco Meraki).
Soft Skills:
Excellent customer service awareness and communication skills.
Ability to work independently and as a member of a team.
Able to resolve technical issues with users over the phone.
Ability to think and act under pressure.
