Job Description:

Who We Are:


As a recognized leader in space science research and spacecraft instrumentation, avionics, and electronics, we work to reveal the secrets of our solar system and the universe.


Objectives of this Role:


  • Develop code to model light propagation thru planetary atmospheres and enable atmospheric retrieval thru occultation observations.

  • Internship for local student for Spring 2024 semester


Daily and Monthly Responsibilities:


  • Research similar techniques in use in reflection seismology.

  • Write and test code that applies these techniques for light propagation thru planetary atmospheres.

  • Submit a paper to the appropriate journal describing and demonstrating these techniques.


Requirements:


  • Must be pursuing a PhD in Planetary Science

  • 1 year: Academic experience with python and numpy and scipy packages.

  • Academic experience with Astronomical data reduction.

  • Academic experience with observing occultations.

  • Classes with a background in linear algebra.



Special Requirements:


Work assignment is in Boulder, Colorado.


Job Locations: Boulder, Colorado


Salary Range: $28.30 - $33.00
