Adjusts tables, conveyors, and rollers to ensure that coils are properly positioned over the slitting knives.
Ensures that slitting knives provide a proper slit edge
Prepares entries to SL’s and maintains all related paperwork.
Follow set-up steps as described in production set-up information and QDC procedures.
Ensures that the slitter setup operator has mounted the correct knives and positioned them correctly onto the slitting arbour.
Perform product / process audits and report findings internally as set out in procedures.
Monitors slitting process for possible defects. Drop of coil in and out of pit and take up of finished coil.
Ensure ALL Exposed Product procedures are followed as described in production set-up information, including the proper handling, inspection, and production of Auto Exposed product.
Ensure ALL Exposed Product is treated as prime material and accounted for at the end of a coil.
Responsible for the Safe and Efficient operation of slitting line and all personnel.
Ensures the completion of SL’s, Quality checks and logs.
Proven team leader in assigning tasks and resolving issues to ensure efficiency standards are met.
Lead team to successful tooling changeovers.
Maintains neat and accurate records.
Performs other duties as assigned by Supervisor.
General
Complies with the designated IATF16949 responsibilities, environmental management system, health & safety and company rules and guidelines.
Ensures company safety policies are adhered to, and that all department personnel and visitors utilize safe work habits. Wears personal protective equipment (PPE) as always required
Maintains a high standard of general housekeeping consistent with 5S standards
Strives for continuous improvement
Position Qualifications
Requires a High School Diploma or equivalent
2 years of job-related experience in handling Automotive Exposed and Non-Exposed product.
