We are looking for a Industrial Emergency Response Specialist/Paramedic to join Kaiser Aluminum Warrick Operations in Newburgh, Indiana!

Accountable for protecting life and Company property.

The work activities of this position are mainly concerned with: Plant Protection, Emergency Medical Treatment, Weather Spotter, Security with emphasis on the utilization of specialized knowledge in the areas investigation, firefighting, fire protection and Hazardous materials response. This requires an extensive knowledge of the plant layout and facilities, firefighting techniques and a general awareness of all plant processes. Act as Incident Commander on emergencies.

Primary Responsibilities:


  • Provide pre-hospital advanced life support care from initial contact until patient care is relinquished to the accepting medical facility maintaining thorough patient care and documentation.

  • Responsible for daily station and equipment checks, which includes narcotic count.

  • Maintain documentation of required licensure, certifications, continuing education

  • Knowledgeable in use and routine maintenance of all equipment and supplies used by emergency programs (Fire, EMS, Rescue and security).

  • Maintains positive interpersonal relationships with colleagues, EMS representatives, hospitals, and supervising physicians.

  • Complies with safety standards to assure safety of self, patient, EMS crew and equipment.

  • Fire suppression and prevention activities include fire system and fire extinguisher inspections, oversight and enforcement of hot work program.

  • Education and instructional activities, to include training of on-site Fire Brigade, employee & contractor safety programs.

  • Security Duties encompass access and egress of employees, visitors and Truck drivers, patrolling of property, monitoring camera systems, report writing and shift logging.

  • Excellent communication skills, emergency and non-emergent call taking, monitoring in house fire alarm systems and dispatching.

  • Responsible for filling open or vacant shifts as needed.

  • Collect and preserve evidence as required; take fingerprints, photographs, interview witnesses.

  • Maintain and operate all emergency vehicles and equipment. Make all emergency medical, fire, and hazardous material runs.

  • Observe for Safety and Plant rules violations.

Qualifications:


  • Minimum of three (3) years’ experience in an ALS service.

  • Current EMT-P license/certification in the State of Indiana.

  • BLS, ACLS, PALS, AMLS, PHTLS/ITLS

  • Instructor certifications in BLS, ACLS, PALS/PEPP, ITLS/PHTLS preferred.

  • NREMT-P certification preferred.

  • Ability to gain firefighter and rescue certifications in the State of Indiana (eg. Firefighter I, II) within a specified time after hire

  • Available to work on different shift schedules
