Part-Time High School Sports Editorial Assistant

The Cincinnati Enquirer / cincinnati.com part of the USA TODAY NETWORK, is seeking a high school sports editorial assistant to work part-time.

These employees are responsible for taking and accurately transcribing scores over the phone and through email for publication in print and online, gathering and compiling high school rosters, writing high school briefs and summaries on deadline, gathering information for special sections and other duties as assigned.

Editorial assistants must work well both independently with minimal supervision, and in collaboration with others.

The general hours for this position are 5 p.m./6 p.m. to 10 p.m./11 p.m. weekdays; and 8 p.m./9 p.m. to midnight Fridays and/or Saturdays, with slightly earlier hours during spring sports season.

The editorial assistant will be mostly based at home and report to the high school sports content coach.

Requirements:

• High School Diploma/G.E.D. required, some college preferred.
• Knowledge of computers, telecommunication skills and area sports is a must.
• Writing articles is necessary, so college experience and coursework in journalism are required with at least a high school level of knowledge in writing/English.
• Knowledge of Google Chrome
• Employment is contingent on passing a post-offer pre-employment background check.
