Job Description:

The Associate Director SFC position provides oversight and supervision of the Student Financial Center.  Performs administration and coordination of a department, division, or area, providing student programs or services including employee supervision and policy and procedure interpretation. 


Responsibilities:



  • Responsible for overall administration and day to day operations of assigned area.

  • Provides leadership and oversight in the preparation, presentation, and implementation of short- and long-term departmental goals.

  • Interprets and administers federal, state, and university policies and procedures.

  • Participates in planning and oversight of programs and services.

  • Supervises employees, including hiring, training, evaluating performance and disciplinary actions.

  • Ensures effective delivery of services and customer relations to include resolving escalations.

  • Develops, reports, and identifies metrics to evaluate efficiencies and suggest operational changes when warranted.

  • Performs various duties as needed to successfully fulfill the function of the position.

Required Education: Bachelor Degree, AND:  



  • 24 months experience in administrative management including supervision


Equivalency/Substitution:  Will accept 48 months related experience in lieu of the Bachelor's degree for a total of 72 months experience.


Skills:



  • Ability to speak, read and write clear, concise English

  • Financial or accounting experience to include analysis, auditing, and budgeting

  • Proficient in Microsoft Office 

  • Highly organized and able to handle multiple projects and deadlines

  • Able to communicate well and build rapport quickly with students, faculty and staff - Strong initiative to solve problems

  • Able to work well with interdepartmental teams and initiatives -

  • Customer service 

  • Must have knowledge of advising, counseling or coaching principles. 

  • Must be able to read and interpret policy as well as State and Federal regulations

 Physical Requirements:



  • Must be able to engage in repetitive motions, communicate and see including color, depth perception and clarity.


 Departmental Preferences:



  • Prefer individuals who have worked with students of any age in an educational setting.

  • Prefer financial aid and/or bursar experience.


 Supervision: 5 - 7 Staff
