Network Voices Editor

We are currently seeking a dynamic and experienced Voices Editor to solicit and edit compelling, first-person opinion essays for publication across the USA TODAY Network.

This editor will identify authors with lived experiences that speak to the news moment, edit their submissions and work with our national and local opinion editors to publish across our network of news organizations.

A successful editor in this role will be comfortable moving at the speed of news, will love working with both experienced and new authors, have a passion for great storytelling and a keen eye for shaping personal narratives.

This editor should also be comfortable interviewing sources and writing themselves on occasion.

This is a remote role that be located in all states except for Alaska and Hawaii.

Requirements:

• Bachelor's degree in journalism, communications, or a related field.
• 5+ years of experience in journalism, with a focus on opinion writing and editing.
• Strong writing, editing and fact-checking skills.
• Deep knowledge of current events, politics and social issues.
• Ability to work in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment.
• Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
