Providing claims support to both the litigated and non-litigated teams
Printing, scanning disks or thumb drives to verify no threats on receipt of demand packages, route demands to appropriate consultants and/or upload demand for review
Providing support to Supervisors, Managers or Sr. Manager for ad hoc projects assigned including data corrections, spreadsheet assignments and any other assistance needed
Preparing initial draft of non-litigated settlement documents to be reviewed by adjusters before transmittal to customer or attorney
Set up and enter new claims in the claims management system, scan new claims to the assigned claims consultant
Enter and update claimant bio information, claimant attorney contact information, facts of loss, injury sustained, etc. into predetermined fields, create and mail initial claim specific (GL, Fleet, RX) contact letters through the claims management system
Answering phone calls and retrieving and routing voice mails from outside calls to Risk Management and directing them to the appropriate party
Calling attorney offices on new claims to verify date and time of loss to obtain more information as needed for video preservation
Making copies and filing as needed
High school diploma or equivalent
Written and communication skills
Work effectively without close supervision or guidance
Set priorities, plan and coordinate work activities, schedule staff, and obtain and manage resources so that work objectives are accomplished on time and within budget
Manage time so that the priority of the activities determines the timing and amount of attention they receive
Attend to and verify the accuracy and completeness of detailed information in documents or on the computer, such as prices, quantity, weights, lists or data
Develop and maintain professional, trusting, positive, and productive working relationships with associates, managers, customers, and vendors
Create an environment in which a positive and professional service orientation is evident to internal customers
Orally present and express ideas and information clearly, politely, and concisely, in a manner appropriate to the audience
Prepare clear, accurate, understandable, and professional written text in English. This may include e-mail, communications for associates, reports, and professional or general correspondence
Basic skill level in Microsoft Word
Basic skill level in Risk Management Claims System and Clerk of Courts Websites
Availability to work extended hours
Higher education or trade school
Basic skill level in Microsoft Excel
Intermediate skill level in Microsoft Word
Proficient in Microsoft Outlook
1 year of clerical support experience in a claim’s office
Certifications in Medical or Legal field
Bilingual – fluent Spanish
