TMS Technologist at Compass Health Network in Jefferson City, Missouri

Job Description:

Compensation: $22.00 hourly

The TMS Technologist works closely with the TMS provider to administer ongoing TMS to assigned clients.

This is a Full-time, benefit-eligible position. The schedule is Monday - Friday 8:00am - 4:30pm.

The rTMS stands for repetitive transcranial magnetic stimulation, and it is used to treat patients with depression who are not responding to medications alone in an adequate manner.

ESSENTIAL

FUNCTIONS - JOB SPECIFIC

* Ability to learn to setup the TMS device and the coil placement
* Guide patients through the procedure and answer their questions
* Possesses a calm demeanor and able to reassure patients
* Ability to monitor patients closely during the procedure and during recovery
* Previous experience in working with depressed and/or anxious patients will be beneficial
* Ensures complete charting for the session including rating scales
* Ability/willingness to learn TMS device specific procedure
* Ability to recognize seizure activity
* Ability to monitor vital signs
* Other duties as assigned

WORKING CONDITIONS & EXPOSURE RISK

* Regular exposure to blood and/or body fluids
* Regular exposure to radiation sources

* Associate's degree required
* Bachelor's degree preferred

QUALIFICATION(S): WORK EXPERIENCE/TRAINING/ADDITIONAL REQUIREMENTS

* An equivalent combination of education and minimum of two (2) years experience in a health care setting is required if a bachelor's degree is not obtained
* Training for conducting TMS visits completed (training will be provided)
* Any experience working in recovery environments or experience with ECT will be a bonus
* Knowledge of basic anatomy will be advantageous, but not necessary

QUALIFICATION(S): LICENSURE/CERTIFICATION

BLS certification required
