Your new company:

I am currently recruiting for an established Multifamily Real Estate Developer/Builder based within the DC district who are looking to invest in a Director of Construction. Depending on the size and complexity of the project, you would either be delivering this project as the general contractor utilizing the internal PM and CM team, or you will be acting as the Owners Representative, managing external general contractors. This is a fantastic chance to join a growing organization and for you to step into a leadership position.

Your new role:

Reporting into a Vice President of Development and Owner, you will be involved in the very early stages of new multi-family developments in the company's portfolio. construction and into handover to an internal property management team. The typical projects Generally, the projects are boutique multifamily developments, typically high end 10-15 units but have active projects up to 50 units. As they are increasingly growing, their portfolio will expand, they are currently in preconstruction on developments up to 150 units as they look to capitalize on the market. You will also interact with various external vendors including general contractors, subcontractors, architects, and engineers as well engaging with the community. You will be responsible for managing a small team of project managers and construction managers. This is an opportunity which requires you to multi-task, work efficiently and independently whilst also collaborating well with the entire team as the company grows.

What you'll need to succeed:

To be successful in this role you will have 10+ years' of experience working for a real estate developer or general contractor delivering multifamily projects in the Washington DC, Maryland, Pennsylvania or Virginia area. Candidates outside of the DMV area will not be considered for this opportunity. A 4-year degree is essential, ideally within construction or business management or could be real estate focused. Strong leadership and management skills are required for this position, a track record in a leadership where you have driven a team to success is required.
