Position Summary:

The Operations Manager is a key member of the Operations Leadership Team responsible for leading initiatives across the total manufacturing network. Work with Team Leaders to assist Plant Teams in achieving our goals. Perform all jobs safely, efficiently and accurately to maintain and improve the performance of the entire division in the areas of Safety, Quality, Reliability (SQR) and our Customer 1st strategy. Role model and demonstrate the company's core values of respect, honesty, integrity, diversity, inclusion and safety of others.


  • Successful experience in the role of General Manager or significant other operations expertise.
  • Bachelor's degree and related experience in food industry.
  • 10 to 15 years of Food Manufacturing/Processing or equivalent experience.
  • Contemporary managerial skills and desire to learn product knowledge.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office suite.
  • Strong written and verbal communication and presentation skills.
  • Knowledge of retail, marketing, sales and manufacturing.
  • Understanding of finance/accounting principles.
  • Strong analytical ability.
  • Ability to travel independently.

  • Develop and maintain a professional working relationship with all Divisions, General Office and Plant Staff members.
  • Provide strategic guidance and leadership to our business partners to align our business and people processes toward deliverables that support being best in class.
  • Support all Manufacturing operations strategies and initiatives, and develop processes to drive best practice reapplication.
  • Remain abreast of market conditions, competition, new technology, government regulations and supplier information as they apply to the operation. Keep abreast of all technologies impacting the business.
  • Establish measurement tools and data analytics that will provide strategic risk insight.
  • Lead strategic workforce planning design and efficient management of sound processes for identifying and filling workforce needs.
  • Protect, manage and maximize the use of all company assets.
  • Follow established programs, policies and practices to produce safe quality foods that meet regulatory and company requirements.
  • Support the development, implementation, maintenance, and ongoing improvement of the SQF 2000 Systems.
  • Accountable to the Kroger Manufacturing Food Safety and Quality Principles.
  • Supervise and coach direct reports in the performance of their duties; complete performance reviews and provides feedback to direct reports.
  • Must be able to perform the essential functions of this position with or without reasonable accommodation.
