Job Description:

Role:
The Insurance Agent role involves delivering comprehensive insurance solutions to credit union members, select employer groups (SEGs), and the broader public. The position emphasizes expertise across all EAS insurance lines, with a primary focus on Property & Casualty insurance.

You will demonstrate a proactive sales approach, a thorough understanding of insurance products, and the ability to cultivate and maintain relationships within our community and beyond.

Essential Functions & Responsibilities:

40% Counsel Clients & Prospects:
• Provide customized insurance solutions to credit union members, select employer groups (SEGs), and the general public, focusing on Property & Casualty insurance.
• Assess client needs and recommend suitable insurance products, ensuring tailored coverage and satisfaction.
• Achieve individual and team sales targets using strong sales skills across all EAS insurance lines.
• Stay updated on industry trends and regulatory changes to offer informed advice and ensure compliance.
• Foster client relationships through exceptional customer service, addressing inquiries promptly.

25% Build & Maintain Relationships:
• Schedule regular check-ins to discuss client needs and gather feedback.
• Send personalized updates and newsletters to keep clients informed.
• Tailor services to meet each client's specific needs.
• Offer exclusive deals or early access to new offerings.
• Show appreciation for business from each client.

20% Provide Quality Customer Service:
• Provide excellent customer service with accuracy, efficiency, and consistency.
• Complete administrative tasks, including applications and record maintenance.
• Respond promptly to client inquiries and resolve issues effectively.
• Document all client interactions accurately.
• Continuously improve processes to enhance service quality and administrative efficiency.

10% Maintain & Improve Working Environment:
• Use team and communication skills to enhance the working environment.
• Support Empower Federal Credit Union's culture through training, marketing, and Credit Union Committee activities.
• Collaborate with colleagues to foster a positive workplace.
• Pursue ongoing professional development to improve skills and knowledge.
• Contribute to team initiatives and share best practices to achieve organizational goals.

5% Perform all other duties assigned.

Performance Measurements:
1. See Dayforce (HRIS) for performance goals upon hire and annually. Knowledge and Skills:

Experience Qualifications:
-Three to five years of successful insurance sales experience, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.

Licensing Requirements:
- Must possess or begin the process to obtain a current New York State Personal Lines Property and Casualty Insurance License, as determined by the Insurance Manager.
- Mandatory compliance with Continuing Education requirements to maintain licensing.

Education (1) A two-year college degree, or (2) completion of a specialized certification or licensing, or (3) completion of specialized training courses conducted by vendors, or (4) job-specific skills acquired through an apprenticeship program.

Interpersonal Skills: Work involves extensive personal contact with others and is of a personal or sensitive nature. Motivating, influencing, and/or training others is key at this level. Outside contacts become important and fostering sound relationships with other entities (companies and/or individuals) becomes necessary and often requires the ability to influence and/or sell ideas or services to others.

Other Skills:

-Excellent communication and listening skills to build rapport with prospects and clients, including persuasion and negotiation skills.
-Speech clarity to convey complex information in terms the client can understand.
-Time management skills to coordinate and prioritize multiple daily tasks, along with strict attention to detail and a high level of organization.
-Aptitude for billing, figures, and calculations, with the ability to understand complex coverage information, underwriting guidelines, and a wide range of products.
-Ability to analyze data and information, and proficiency in learning multiple carriers' product lines, guidelines, and navigating their websites and procedures.
-General office computer and insurance industry software proficiency, with the ability to learn and use multiple software tools.
-Professional appearance and a willingness to work flexible hours.
