Acute Long-Term Care Hospital

An exciting opportunity in a professional hospital setting assisting patients transition to inpatient rehabilitation, skilled nursing, and home care. Grace Hospital is a not-for-profit registered Acute Long-Term Care Hospital, the first of its kind to be established in Cuyahoga County. We are Medicare and Medicaid certified and fully accredited by the Joint Commission. Grace Hospital utilizes an interdisciplinary care team model to produce optimal clinical outcomes. We seek care-givers who are compassionate, competent, and results-oriented to join our team.

Job Summary: Plans and implements specific treatment and educational programs for individual patients, patient groups, and families/significant others according to the principles and practices of occupational therapy. Collaborates with the interdisciplinary treatment team.

This Occupational Therapist position is PART-TIME 4 days/week 4 hours/day. Tuesday afternoon is a must.

Qualifications: 

Education: Graduate of an accredited program in occupational therapy.

Experience: One to two years experience preferred.

Other: Licensed in Occupational Therapy by the State of Ohio; CPR BLS certification.

Responsibilities:


  1. Evaluates, reassesses, and implements patient care treatment plan according to professionally accepted standards of practice.

  2. Educates staff, other healthcare professionals and the general community about occupational therapy services on a consistent basis.

  3. Provides proper supervision/guidance to therapy assistants and support staff.

  4. Develops and implement new programs/techniques to enhance facility utilization.

  5. Assists supervisor in collection of statistics and updating of record keeping.

  6. Instructs and supervise interns.

  7. Participates in formal/informal patient reporting procedures.

  8. Performs patient mobilization, utilizing appropriate techniques.*

  9. Delivers and modifies care that is specific to the age, growth, and development of the patient.*

  10. Provides proper emotional psychological direction during patient interactions Utilize appropriate and individualized treatment techniques/tools to promote success of established goals.

  11. Documents treatment procedures accurately.*

  12. Provides patient care with attention to safety.

  13. Performs patient transfers independently or with assistance.

  14. Performs other duties as assigned.
