Job Description:

Job Summary

Fit and fabricate metal components to assemble structural forms, using knowledge of welding techniques.

Job Responsibilities

Position, and secure parts and assemblies according to specifications, using straightedge, combination square, calipers, and ruler
Tack-welds or welds components and assemblies, using welding equipment
Inspect grooves, angles, or gap allowances, using a micrometer, tape measure, caliper, and precision measuring instruments
Remove rough spots from work, using a portable grinder, hand file, or scraper
Weld components in flat, vertical, or overhead positions
Ignite the torch and adjust valves, amperage, or voltage to obtain the desired flame or arc
Determine required equipment and welding methods, applying knowledge of metallurgy, geometry, and welding techniques.
Safely operate overhead cranes and/or fork trucks to move large fabrications
Proficient in MIG welding, hand plasma cutting, air arc/back gouge, and hand torch and rosebud
Other duties as assigned

Qualifications

High School Diploma or equivalent

Minimum of 2 years prior experience in a quality position or related field, preferably in the metals industry.
Prior experience in an industrial warehouse environment, preferably in the metals industry.

Basic mechanical skills
Clear verbal and written communication skills
Maintain a clean and orderly work environment

Compensation

$23 - $24 houlry

Fast-paced, clean, organized, and process-oriented environment
Must be able to stand constantly and lift up to 40 lbs
