  • Understanding of Basic Shop Mathematics
  • Proficient in using computers and computer software inspection programs
  • High School or GED from an accredited institution
  • Minimum of 2 years' experience and training related to quality inspection and gauging.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • In-depth knowledge of dimensional drawing interpretation including Geometric Tolerancing. Extensive experience in dimensional measurement of machined products
  • Operational and programming competency with CMM (Coordinate Measuring Machine).
  • Demonstrated knowledge and competencies relating to product safety

Physical Demands:


  • Lifting: Moderately Heavy - Lift on an occasional basis a maximum of 75 pounds with frequent or constant lifting of 40 pounds.

  • Standing: Frequently (50% - 80% of workday)

  • Walking: Moderately (20% - 50% of workday)

  • Bending and Twisting: Moderately (20% - 50% of workday)

  • Temperature Extremes (percent of time working in non-climate controlled, production environment): Moderately (20% - 50% of workday)

  • Noise (percent of time working in noisy, production environment): Moderately (20% - 50% of workday)

Position Summary: Responsible for product layout approval, gage control and calibration program.

Supervisory Responsibilities: N/A

Essential Duties:


  • Layout of production product and gages using the CMM and/or manual processes. Layouts for the product must be checked completely to the blueprint and documented.
  • Logs layout reports as soon as the layout is completed.
  • Notifies Machinists and Supervisors of required changes to product that does not pass layout and makes timely follow-up to ensure that the changes have been made.
  • Assists by performing dock audits, process audits, DuraBright inspections, and any other tasks deemed necessary to meet the requirements of the control plan as required. Collects and calibrates bore mics and bead-seat gages for incoming shift.
