LA PLATA COUNTY PUBLIC HEALTH - Behavioral Health Program Coord: Collaborates to develop & implement behavioral health programs targeted at priority population communities in La Plata County. Devoted to providing paraprofessional client & admin support. Maintains program data; creates reports; assists managers with program development, planning, compliance, & evaluation; develops & delivers education presentations; tracks budget, expenditures & grants; assists with grant writing. Ideal candidate will have strong organizational & communication skills. Requires BA & 4 years of healthcare or public health exper or any combination thereof. JOB SUMMARY: The Behavioral Health Program Coordinator is responsible for supporting all programs in the Behavioral Health program area including substance use prevention, suicide prevention, and harm reduction. The coordinator supports coalition building, provides meeting facilitation, assures program deliverable completion, and serves as backup for all programs. The coordinator provides excellent customer service to internal and external partners and facilitates certain activities that meet grant deliverables.

Under the general direction of the Behavioral Health Programs Supervisor, the Behavioral Health Coordinator will perform the following duties: Facilitation • Facilitate community engagement opportunities for the behavioral health team including coalition meetings, workgroups, etc. • Coordinate logistics of community engagement meetings (i.e., agendas, meeting notes, logistics) Grant/Contract Support • Serve as a point of contact for all behavioral health programs for support with grant deliverables. • Support data collection and reporting for contracts; serves as back up for Behavioral Health Supervisor on contract meetings as needed. • Utilize appropriate tools, resources, and guidelines to implement contract deliverables. Staff Support • Lead behavioral health meetings in the absence of the Behavioral Health Supervisor; support day-to-day questions and concerns from staff; troubleshoot program processes and IT issues. • Support program staff with professional development activities. • Support program staff as backup if someone is out of the office (i.e., run meetings, support harm reduction events, attend street outreach) Communications/Outreach • Participate in community partnership development through meetings and targeted outreach. • Support staff and Behavioral Health Supervisor with changes/updates to websites. • Support staff and Behavioral Health Supervisor with developing, reviewing, submitting and following up on communications requests. • Participate in community public education activities and outreach to raise awareness. • Build and maintain Community Partner Resource list. • Maintain good community partner relations. • Distribute communications materials, and/or other informational or educational documents to community partners and through one-on-one education services. Finance/Administration • Receive and review invoices and related accounts payable documents; verify accounts payable information and code invoices for payment. • Supports actions to resolve payment issues by coordinating with vendors and department contacts. • Help with management of subcontracts, including providing training and support to subcontractors. • Oversee supply inventory and ordering for harm reduction supplies. • Help draft and ensure that procedures are in place for harm reduction services and coalition/collaborative meetings. • Support quality compliance, process improvement and achievement of grant deliverables. Referrals • Provide referrals to resources. Collaborate with other agencies in creating and supporting a referral system. • Serve as a support for staff who help facilitate continuity of care within Harm Reduction program. Performs other duties as assigned. Regular and predictable attendance is required.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS REQUIRED: Any combination of education and experience that would likely provide the required knowledge, skills and abilities is qualifying. A typical way to obtain the knowledge, skills and abilities for this position would be: Education and Experience: Bachelor's degree in public health, psychology, sociology or nursing and four years of healthcare, public health, behavioral health, communications or related experience; or An equivalent combination of education and experience sufficient to successfully perform the essential duties of the job such as those listed above, unless otherwise subject to any other requirements set forth in law or regulation.
