What you'll Do This position is responsible for managing the Company's Tax incentives and related accounting requirements. The position is responsible to monitor potential tax savings on future tax expenditures and infrastructure spend by the Company (GP1) (MG2) . This position will support the global development, retail warehouse and other facility growth expansionary activities by identifying, negotiating and complying with the reporting requirements for statutory and discretionary incentives to facilitate and help maximize the return on investment.
Research complex credits & tax incentives, energy incentives and infrastructure incentives before Americold completes board approval on potential projects.
Provide the sources of the incentives and identify the discretionary incentives
Independently complete all paperwork necessary to secure incentives (statutory and discretionary tax incentives) and quantify all limitations plus special circumstances to obtain the full benefit of the incentives.
Prepare and request for Proposals (RFP) on Incentives within Americold's (AMC) desired placement of new build/expansions (plus surrounding counties/states for competitive bid packages)
Negotiate with applicable governmental entities to reduce future state tax liabilities
Working with our AMC Legal/Local counsel to complete/finalize bond agreements, payment in lieu of tax (PILOT), Fee In Lieu of Taxes (FILOT), or other agreements between Americold and state / local governments
Reconcile timing of incentives, constraints, and milestones
Create/prepare a template to communicate all milestones, clawback provisions to target audience (executive management, internal Americold groups, and external consultants)
Ongoing maintenance of tax incentive programs secured
Reviews studies of credits & incentives opportunities to identify alternative courses of actions to benefit Americold.

What Experience and Education You Need
Bachelor's Degree is required.
5 + years in Tax Incentive work is required
Experience in attending local tax incentive meetings/hearings
Ability to perform well under pressure and maintain a positive attitude in a high-volume and changing environment
Demonstration of ownership and ability to multi-task to balance responsibilities with assigned projects, while ensuring that all deadlines are met
Experience in Microsoft Office, including Word
Advanced knowledge/experience in Excel
Ability to travel 10-15% of the time

Physical Requirements
Requires the ability to sit for long periods of time, with frequent interruptions

Talking, hearing, and seeing are important elements of completing assigned tasks
May require travel by automobile and airplane for business
May require visits to warehouse operations in temperatures at or below freezing
May require carrying loads related to travel and the occasional lifting, carrying, positioning, and/or moving of objects weighing up to 20 pounds
Requires the use of various electronic tools
