Job Description:

Porter II is responsible for moving and prepping vehicles to ensure smooth and efficient traffic flow through the assigned facility and increase customer convenience and maintaining an orderly parking area. As part of the prep, the Porter II cleans vehicles, performing any combination of following duties: washes vehicle exterior through automated car wash to clean cars, using cleaning solution, water, cloths and brushes as necessary. Through the direction of local VA team members, the Porter II is also responsible for accounting, processing, and registering cars and motorcycles. Work closely with VA Supervisor and Specialists to identify, record and resolve title issues. This position handles a high volume of legal documents on a daily basis.

Key responsibilities:


  • Run daily VA locator report for vehicle delivery schedule and identification of any open service needs prior to delivery, assuring deliveries match-up with delivery schedule in a timely manner; locate priority vehicles for processing.

  • Gas, wash and vacuum vehicle, install disposable seat/floor mat covers and I.D tags, install license plate in all vehicles in preparation for customer delivery.

  • Schedule service appointment with approved service provide for vehicles requiring work prior to delivery, update VA system as needed.

  • Drive vehicles from inventory storage location to proper places for pre-delivery work and then delivery location or parking lot, as needed; drives vehicles to different areas of assigned facility as directed by management and in accordance with local facility requirements; act as shuttle service to car wash and/or fueling station.

  • Maintain assigned vehicle lot(s) in a neat and organized manner; moving vehicles as needed to maintain flow of traffic and in accordance with local facility standards.

  • Monitor and provide status on location inventory (e.g. pool cars, stocked inventory, service or suspended associate holding areas, including but not limited to identifying aged inventory, moving aged inventory to prevent lot rot and vehicle cleanliness.

  • Coordinates vehicle delivery with customers and/or team members per locations specifics; stage vehicle as needed

  • Perform vehicle return inspections, remove license plate as needed, remove contents from returned vehicle to new vehicle

  • Engage in daily team communication ; provide, foster and encourage daily team work to increase efficiencies

  • Run any necessary errands required by management

  • Assist customers with questions and directing them to appropriate personnel as needed

  • Maintains VA shop maintenance duties, including but not limited to: cleans driveway and sidewalks, removing debris as necessary, monthly maintenance of automated car wash, etc.

  • Fill or replenish all vehicle fluids, as needed, and perform other minor vehicle assistance in preparation for customer delivery

  • Understand and deliver to the specific requirements of various customer types

  • Provides transportation for VIP customers as needed

  • Must follow all company safety policies and procedures, and immediately report any and all accidents to manager or supervisor.

  • Assist with preparation and processing of license plate and title documents, and all titling transactions for local and out-of-state titling. Complete assigned states Department of Motor Vehicle registration paperwork for planned vehicle deliveries as well as all company car sales in state which they will be titled. Request duplicate titles if needed.

  • Assist with printing and maintainng Certificates of Origin for all vehicles in assigned area of responsibility

  • Assist with titling documents through electronic vehicle registration program and DMV office. Ensure license plate information in the VA system is updated properly

  • Prepare check for title workand refunds as needed

  • Maintain accurate logs for license plate and title tracking including ownership of dealer or manufacturer plate assignments

  • Ensure registrations do not expire while vehicle are still in service

  • Prepare auction list and prep titles to send to auction on daily basis to ensure vehicles move to sale as quickly s possible. Sign over titles for consignment in a timely manner

  • Provide daily title completion and issue tracking, assist with trouble shooting and issue resolution

  • Maintain knowledge of DMV laws and regulations as relating to vehicle titles in assigned states and ensure company plates and titles comply with all applicable state regulations

  • Research missing and incorrect title paperwork

  • Verify accurate title VIN number, odometer reading, release of liens, "free and clear" title and that titles contain no alteration.

  • Respond to customer inquiries in a professional manner

  • Perform other duties as assigned or requested to assure optimum customer service levels

The pay range for this role is $44,348.00 - $50,697.00.

The selected candidate's education, skills, experience, and location will be used to determine the final salary offer. This statement is in accordance with state and local pay disclosure requirements.

Requirements:


  • High School diploma or equivalent

  • Basic knowledge of cars and car parts, as well as tools and other equipment

  • Understanding of correct vehicle cleaning practices

  • Valid Driver's license with clean driving record

  • Ability to drive manual transmission vehicles

  • Ability to work outdoors and handle physical means of position
