Aftersales Systems Technology Project Manager at BMW of North America in Woodcliff Lake, New Jersey

Job Description:

As an Aftersales Systems Technology Project Manager, you will drive the digital future and system innovation of Aftersales in the US dealer network. You will be responsible to define product visions, strategies, and roadmaps, continuously develop, plan, and manage the implantation of business requirements, and roll out new functionality to all US dealerships. You will manage multiple projects ensuring alignment on content, approach, budget, and timelines, along with managing and reporting on budget and project performance to upper management committees.

Key Responsibilities:


  • Develop product visions, strategies, and roadmaps.

  • Develop business requirements for Aftersales systems. Plan, align, and manage their implementation with internal and external development partners as well as development partners at the BMW headquarters in Munich.

  • Manage the creation of project plans, resource requirements, and timelines, including the coordination with process partners both within and outside the department.

  • Negotiate priorities and timelines with central teams and 3rd party system suppliers. Coordinate efforts to ensure aligned timelines for delivery.

  • Manage testing, documentation, training material creation, dealer support, piloting, dealer visits, and the support of field staff.

  • Plan and manage the rollout of new functionality to the US dealer network.

  • Communicate project visions, strategies, roadmaps, and status to upper management committees.

  • Create service technology standards for 3rd party systems, including product qualification criteria, and qualification processes. Perform product evaluations as well as communication to US dealer network.

  • Oversee the execution of processes to maintain service technology standards in the US dealer network.

The pay range for this role is: $105,213.00 - $123,780.00.

The selected candidate's education, skills, experience, and location will be used to determine the final salary offer. All pay ranges are based on a full-time work schedule. This statement is in accordance with state and local pay disclosure requirements.

Requirements:


  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Business - or equivalent work experience

  • 3-5 years' experience in wholesale/retail in an OEM- preferably in an Aftersales or Information Technology area with specific areas including service processes, good knowledge of retail processes

  • 3-5 years' experience leading teams and managing external vendors

  • 3-5 years managing multiple projects simultaneously

  • Solid technical, management, and instructional skills

  • Experience in negotiating with and influencing internal and external business partners

  • Experience presenting business cases to management circles and dealer forum committees for approval

  • Experience in convincing dealer forum committees and dealers' body to adopt new service technology

Preferences:


  • Excellent computer skills (e.g., Word, Excel, PPT)

  • Expert knowledge of Confluence, JIRA

  • Expert knowledge of API technology (XML, REST, JSON)
