Posting Summary:

The Speech Language Pathologist Consultant will serve as a consultant to school teams who refer students to the Vermont Interdisciplinary Team project. The Vermont I-Team provides statewide collaborative support for Vermont children and youth who require intensive special education. The team provides consultation for teams working with students age 3-22 and training to school district personnel, family members, community service providers and general community members on a variety of topics related to the education of students with intensive special education needs. The Speech Language Pathologist Consultant will provide consultation using their expertise in complex communication needs and augmentative and alternative communication (AAC) to the Northwest Region of Vermont.


Minimum Qualifications (or equivalent combination of education and experience):

Bachelor's degree in Speech Language Pathology and a VT license to practice as an SLP. 3 or more years' experience providing direct and/or consultative services to school age children with complex communication needs. 3 or more years' experience working on an interdisciplinary team. Experience with augmentative and alternative communication (AAC). Strong communication skills with a demonstrated ability to produce professional quality written work.


Desirable Qualifications:

Knowledge of equity, diversity, and inclusion, including experience with historically underserved schools, communities, students, and families.


Anticipated Pay Range:

$84,000 to $102,000 annually. Due to this being a 10-month reduced FTE position, actual anticipated salary range is $52,500 to $63,750


Special Conditions:

Bargaining unit position, A probationary period may be required, Contingent on continued funding, This position is eligible for full-time telework in accordance with the university telecommuting policy, Background Check required for this position
