Overview

We seek a new member to join our computational team in developing and applying cutting-edge AI-driven protein engineering methods to design next-generation biotherapeutics. We work closely with other biologics research teams who conduct associated protein engineering, in vitro and in vivo screening, and immunological analysis; together we integrate computational design and experimental evaluation, in a closed loop fashion, to engineer new and improved protein drugs. While our groups are pursuing biotherapeutics with a wide range of structures and functions, from recognition to catalysis to delivery, this role is centered on the development of potent, redosable gene therapies, leveraging our protein design and engineering platform to dramatically expand the impact of these life-altering and life-saving biotherapeutic agents. This position can be remote or hybrid in our research labs in NJ or NH.

Responsibilities

Responsibilities

  • Develop and apply methods to model and predict relationships among protein sequence, structure, function, and interactions, learning from both general data as well as protein target-specific data

  • Develop and apply methods to generate and re-design biotherapeutic candidates under constraints regarding their sequence, structure, and function

  • Develop and apply methods to iteratively optimize and learn from portfolios of protein engineering experiments, exploring and exploiting the design space around a biotherapeutic target

  • Develop and apply methods to integrate diverse experimental data in closing the loop between design and evaluation in computationally-directed evolution of a biotherapeutic target

Qualifications

  • A PhD in Computer Science, Bioinformatics, Quantitative Biomedical Science, or a related discipline is required.

  • Experience in computational structural biology and/or computational protein design is required; experience in computational immunology is beneficial.

  • Experience applying artificial intelligence and machine learning methods is required; developing and improving such methods is beneficial.

  • Working well in a collaborative team environment to formulate questions, develop appropriate approaches, and analyze resulting data is essential.

Salary Range

Insmed takes into consideration a combination of candidate's education, training, and experience as well as the position's scope and complexity, the discretion and latitude required in the role, and external market and internal value when determining a salary level for potential new employees.

The base salary range for this job is from $89,000.00 to $119,267.00 per year
