Department Summary


The College of Health and Public Service (HPS) at the University of North Texas, distinguished as one of the few Tier One research universities designated as a Hispanic-Serving Institution (HSI), prepares graduates to address diverse and complex social issues such as aging, disability, disaster management and recovery, criminal justice, health disparities, and public safety, and find solutions to challenges in public administration, public health, and urban planning. We have seven academic departments with undergraduate and graduate programs, the Center for Public Management, the UNT Speech and Hearing Center, UNT Workplace Inclusion & Sustainable Employment (WISE) and a number of professional development and clinical training programs to facilitate careers to address a global society.

The Department of Social Workhouses MSW and BSW degree programs. We develop generalist social work practitioners who will advance equity and optimize quality-of-life outcomes in diverse communities worldwide by helping people overcome the challenges associated with abuse, poverty, homelessness, addiction, disability, illness and discrimination. Graduates practice in a variety of areas including integrated healthcare settings, hospice, substance abuse treatment, mental health, child welfare, aging, criminal justice, veterans, military and first responders, and more.



Position Overview


This position is responsible for supporting the grant-funded Community Health Worker (CHW) Certification Program specializing in Opioid and Other Substance Use Disorders (OSUDS) project. They help with developing, scheduling and ensuring access to training; managing participant payments and Continuing Education Credits; assisting with marketing of the program; and assisting with data collection and reporting for the grant.



Minimum Qualifications


Bachelor's Degree in related field and one year of related experience or any equivalent combination of education, training and experience.

  • Excellent customer service skills.

  • Ability to provide leadership for student employees and volunteers.

  • Experience in networking across departments and programs.

  • Ability to communicate and work with a diverse population.

  • Strong organizational skills and ability to simultaneously execute multiple projects.

  • Excellent verbal and written communication, and computer skills.

Job Duties:



  • Managing participant payments and Continuing Education Credits.

  • Developing, scheduling and ensuring access to online trainings/modules.

  • Paperwork, evaluation data collection/entry, organization and analysis for the project, as well as data visualization and dissemination.

  • Assistance with scheduling and time management of the processes.

  • Promotion of the program to recruit new participants.

  • Collecting and managing program data from participants and stakeholders.

  • Helping PI with data analysis for dissemination and curriculum development.

  • Management of the apprenticeship program.



Work Schedule:


Monday-Friday, 8 a.m. to 5 p.m.
